I was going to say the Chosen One, but recalling the fact he gets a classic happy ending where he saves the village and everything is alright, I sympathize more with the Vault Dweller. He doesn't only save his home, but the whole world, and then he's outcasted. I kind of like his ending being a bit more tragic (he gets his happy ending anyway, but not the one the player would expect at first).

This. The Vault Dweller story woven around this character just felt a lot more satisfying to me, more high-quality and serious. Plus ya gotta love Dogmeat, and ending the game as "A Boy and His Dog." Classic.

#1 The Courier - the story, the freedom, the atmosphere...Altough I am an oldschool Fallout fan, the Courier somehow grew on me, he is my favourite, I guess I spent most time playing as Courier than the other 3 together (well, I am a New Vegas fanatic, so...). And him not coming from a vault is a great plus in my book
#2 Chosen One/Vault Dweller - I cannot decide which one, love them both equaly (Chosen One - funny, unpredictable, I like tribals..., Vault Dweller on the other hand was the first, and I love his ending)
#3 The Lone Wanderer - Meh...kind of blank. Failed to make any bigger impact on me
