call your local church, theres probably one near you, and get the missionaries to stop by, they can answer almost any questions that you might have

Does this mean that if I don't call they won't stop by? Because that hasn't been my experience...
Aye, maybe it will, but probably not...

It definitely won't stop them from wasting my time, riding around on their silly bicycles, asking me if I'm happy with my life. Also asking me if I need any help finding my "purpose".

Southpark is one giant message
Bull. Plenty of episodes that don't have a message(though recently, there have been little)
and I haven't seen Terence and Philip on a recent one
So?
Besides, they did cut out Kenny recently(yes, he returned, but they shouldn't have cut him out.)

Best way to get rid of door-to-door prosetlyzers? Don't give them a chance to speak.

Last month I was over at my parents' house when I saw these two teenage girls come walking up the driveway. I noticed the little nametags and told Mom I'd take the door. When they knocked, I opened it up, started shaking their hands and channeling "Timmy Williams' Tea Time" from Monty Python. I went on for about a minute before letting them off the hook and dismissing them, shutting the door before they had even spoken a single word. They turned and walked back towards their bikes, shaking their heads in utter confusion.

My Mom was dying laughing.

i posted this topic to see your reactions.....and how mssinformed some of you are about my religion, it just goes to prove the fact that most people speak before they have knowledge of what they speak of, taking in hear say and rumor and promptly using it as opinion.

o and on a minor note we DO NOT Worship our past prophets.
we believe in Christ as our true redemer, he is the base of our worship.

you worship Christ as your true redeemer, huh? does that mean that you want to go against God, as that is directly violating one of his commandments? Oh, and once again, the first article of faith states that, "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in his Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." So aren't you wrong about your statement, as it is all three upon which you have developed your faith?
I speak from years of experience of the Mormon church, and all of my beef about it is in another thread. See my debate with Tone here:

First of all, I live in Utah, have for a decade. Second of all, I live right in the heart(most of the cities surrounding SLC) of Utah which is really, THE center of all Mormonism for the entire world. I'm not Mormon, and I have nothing against Mormons so I'm not going to say anything bad. One thing that frustrates me however, is their unwillingness to say that someone or some religion is wrong, rather, they smugly/non-chalantly KNOW they're right(true with many religions I suppose, but they're too damn nice about it).

Rip me to shreds...

God is our eternal father, and when i said that Christ is the foundation of my religion and we worship him, i forgot to offer an explanation we belive strongly in Christs sacrifice so that man might live and someday return to live with him and our heavenly father, we base alot of our belives apon what christ has done for man and that through him we will find redemtion

I actually find this egotism to think that "My view of religion" is the right one especially among the Born Agains.

When I was in Singapore, we used to joke about the born agains coming up and saying, "Hi, I'd like to introduce someone to you, someone who is a close and personal friend. I'd like you to meet, Jesus Christ." And this to a kid who was raised Catholic (which of course makes me a devil worshipping papist!)

The faith makes them self-righteous, and that self-righteous allows them to ignore the consequence of conversion- which is to tear up families, cause depression, and cause tensions within a society. Oh but that's all right because 'We're doing Christ's work!"

As goes the line in Repo Man- "I'll have no commies ride with me... and no christians either!"
