The Followers of the Apocalypse

Mr Krepe

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
Is it just me or do the Followers of the Apocalypse too underused in this game, the only things I discovered about them was that you could donate meds to them, the two quests they instigate and julie farkas' involvement in nothing but a hound dog, yeah i'll be honest being able to join the followers if you had idolised status is good, but you don't get to do anything once you join them, what are you supposed to do, wander around the old mormon fort and offer small talk like all of the other followers npcs, there's only actually two follower members you can talk to, and ones a companion, so....

I think that I, too, would have liked to see the Followers take a larger role in the game world. But, then again, they aren't based in Vegas and weren't that used in previous games either.

Yeah I know, but I feel even as a minor faction there not filled in properly, at least with the khans and boomers they have shops and more quests than the followers, it just doesn't feel right. Even when Julie says the followers will help you in the final battle, they don't even help you directly, not even your allies directly.

Well, the followers are no fighters. It makes no sense for them to show up on the battle field, killing off your enemies.

Beside the old mormon fort, there is also the medical clinic, where you can get the implants and then there is also some outpost a bit south of vegas. I don't know why it's there and / or for what exactly, as there is no npc with real dialogue and I didn't found anything that seems to be connected with it (plus, the building is actually made of time lord technology, as the room in the inside is much much bigger than the building from the outside).

Beside this, I don't think they are too much underused. Not much more underused than all the other places in the game, where you could just get one or max. two quests. Thanks to the meds donation stuff, etc. it is actually a place where it is worth to come back from time to time.

What I meant my directly involved is they might vend meds at the end battle behind the line or something like that because farkas said to me she was providing medical aid, I think it would've been good if there was a followers contingent standing behind the lines guarded by some ncr troops.

Convince Veronica to leave the Brotherhood and see.

[spoiler:729bbd3842]As I saw many dead people in the GECK, does the Brotherhood kill them all, if I do this? :>[/spoiler:729bbd3842]

[spoiler:625aaa3eb3]Yes and Veronica gets all depressed and moody and ends up putting her face into a Vertibirds propeller[/spoiler:625aaa3eb3]

I think it would have been interesting if the player would occasionally encounter Followers that were searching for new knowledge or records and books in the ruins of old libraries, archives and so on.
Or try to find useful bits of technology before salvagers, NCR, or the BOS does.

It's not like there are many ruins of libraries, archives, etc. :>

But a library would be really nice to have. Maybe I will make a quest mod about it some day. The Followers are a good subject for more fan-made content.

They certainly are a good subject for quest mods as far as I know, but yeah go for it, I think there should have been more libraries and archives in the game to provide more information from the terminals from the before times.

PS: Lexx when did you only have 2 radiation signs, when you have 5k posts?

Seeing as the Caesar was a former Follower of the Apocalypse it would be nice if that was followed up some more.
The Followers trying to prevent that something like the rise of Caesar happens again.

^^^^
That would be really good actually, if there was a sort of thing where you have to negotiate with other communities about it, and make sure there no bad seeds about it, but it would have to vary in the quests because the followers aren't that big on violence but it could be a mod for more speech, barter, medicine and other passive skills.
