The Indie Games Thread

@Risewild Did you finally buy AoD? The sale is almost over.
No, my garage door that was breaking apart did break in two during the rain, it literally broke off its hinges too. Now it's not a door anymore (it's two half doors that were sitting on the ground).
So this is forcing me to have to save all the money I can so I can pay to get a new door installed as quick as possible.

Also, I got sick from building and installing a makeshift door in the rain so the stuff we have in the garage won't get damaged by the water. So I'm in bed and I don't feel like playing games at all. :whatever:

Not RPG, but could potentially be a good indie title.

Noteworthy that the developer himself is an actual HEMA fencer.

With that said of course they would make rapier as the most easiest to use (and arguably a bit OP) but less "fun" and "gory".

This game seems pretty nice. :wiggle:

The first thing these videos reminded me of was the Bushido Blade games for PSX. I remember when my friend bought the first game and invited me to play it with him, I picked the Rapier as my weapon and beat him up in all the matches we played against each other (even though I had no idea what I was doing). After that, I was never invited to play that game with him again.

And then you got a character that basically has different mechanic than the rest of rooster. He got footworks as part of combo, one is basically jumping attack in what basically heavy wrist-swinging swordfighting. So much powerful his steps that one slash would put end to the opposing side. Developer said that guy use particular mocap actor that actually not from HEMA person, but more like African Martial Art one. So there is one or two foreign martial art, not just european ones.

Even sabre wielding characters have different variation. My favorite will always be that Hungarian guy in red dress. His footworks are just too much like karate.

If you think rapier is op, then you should try one of these two lovely ladies. Both of them use rapiers. The other is just proud and straight spine firm. One is hunched but with long poking stick.

A game company that deserves a mention here is Cyan. Since they no longer require a big publisher to produce discs for games, they have gone completely indie. Myst is still a classic, but they still produce new games. They have one in development now called Firmament.

For all of you people that like tactical games like Jagged Alliance, check out Merc Tactics.

Seems like a nice game, I'm waiting for it to be released.

That graphic reminds me of a time when I played those PC clones at a flash games website for some reason.

I found this game named Zodiac Legion, which is still being developed. It looks pretty cool and it has a demo.

Thanks for the reminder, almost missed the sale. Just bought the game.
How does it plays?

I would love to make dedicated thread of that game if the game is interesting enough to some people.

Really loves the possibility it could bring about expanded universe.
