The Location of Vault City

Vault Fossil
hey, I was reading the Fallout Bible yesterday (I'm a bit behind I know) but it says that Vault City was formed in 2091. Then I began to think how in Fallout 2, Vault city is between Vault 13 and Vault 15 (if my memory serves me correctly). This made me wonder, where is Vault City in Fallout 1? Is Vault City the same as Shady Sands?

Vault City isn't between V13 and V15. You are thinking or NCR, which is Shady Sands, it was formed by Tandi. Vault City is a bit SouthWest of Modoc.

The organization of the Internal Revenue Code, as enacted in hundreds of Public Laws passed by the U.S. Congress since 1954, is identical to the organization of the Internal Revenue Code separately published as Title 26 of the U.S. Code.
For example, section 162(e)(2)(B)(ii) (26 U.S.C. § 162(e)(2)(B)(ii)) would be as follows:
Title 26: Internal Revenue Code
Subtitle A: Income Taxes
Chapter 1: Normal Taxes and Surtaxes
Subchapter B: Computation of Taxable Income
Part VI: Itemized Deductions for Individuals and Corporations
Section 162: Trade or business expenses
Subsection (e): Denial of deduction for certain lobbying and political expenditures
Paragraph (2) Exception for local legislation
Sub-paragraph (B)
Clause (ii)
The Internal Revenue Code is topically organized and generally referred to by section number (sections 1 through 9834). Some topics are short (e.g., tax rates) and some quite long (e.g., pension & benefit plans).

Well,if vault city (what vault number was it from the beginning?) got a "all clear" from the enclave...How do you explain the intro video, where the enclave actually KILL people thats emerging from a vault? And since the enclave is actually waiting outside the vault when they come out, they must have known they where coming out....Why would they give vaults a "all clear" notice and then kill the ppl in the vault??!

(I`m not trying to be smart about it...)

Well that sounds like the perfect reason. I would have done the same thing, give the all clear to a friend who has just ate the "Grande Combo" from Taco Bell to use my bathroom then just as he gets to the door, BOLT it shut! Then sit back laugh and realize that you just had some guy crap on your floor and you have to clean it up now....ok......not such a good idea, but I hope you get my point. No point here!

If the Enclave were into killing people from the Vaults then why did the good people of Vault City get left to live?

Perhaps the good people of vault city, were left alone/undiscovered.
More likely, it was still part of the vault experiments. The vaults never were meant as a rescue, but as a social experiment. Therefore, it could be an experiment to see how a vault city would thrive.
Or perhaps the enclave just didn't catch it in time.

And about the all-clear sign, perhaps the people in the intro movie never GOT the all-clear sign, but rather got an invitation to come out by the enclave, and they were waiting outside.
The problem with all these theories, is taht you'll never know, unless you ask the people who made up the intro movie.
Maybe something is mentioned about it in the Fallout Bible, ah well...

Or the intro movie was the last thing done with the game, and they were in a hurry, so they just did something without thinking!

Well they may have just killed the first people to leave to get everyone crapping in their pants before they went in and took everybody else. I always figured it was that because the Enclave captured all the people from Vault 13. So they probably killed the first ones to silence any resistance and then took the rest.

i have 3 theories on this. firstly, the intro has no real relatio to the game, its just a way of showing how dangerous and bad and etc the world has become.
or
the people in the vault are from a vault not featured in the game, and they were killed for (whatever) reason
or
they were the social experiment that (i cant be bothered to go back and look at his name) was talking aobut.

Refresh my memory. What happened with the inhabitants in Vault 13 that made it possible for the deathclaws to move in there? I'm pretty sure you find that out when you talk to the deathclaw mother, but it's been a while since I played (just finished Fallout 1 again, so I'm getting prepared for Fo2 now).

If no reason is given though...

maybe the dwellers killed in the intro movie was the one living in Vault 13? And the Enclave killed em to make room for their latest experiment (the deathclaw). It could kinda make sense, but like I said...my theory is probably proven wrong if I just could remember what the deathclaws say when you ask em.

They were taken to the oil rig of the enclave.

But it can't have been the people from Vault 13 in the intro movie, since there was no number on the vault doors, and there clearly were numbers on the vault 13 doors. Besides,a lot of things(including the whole cave thingie) wouldn't have been possible if it were vault 13.

My theory is, is that it is just something to set the mood, nothing more, nothing less.

And you have to love the song :)

No...I feel I'm on to something here.

Actually, Sander's right. The Vault 13 people were brought to the Enclave oil rig, the talking deathclaws were left behind. Period.

The vault at the beginning is pretty much generic, though they might indeed be another vault the Enclave's been working on...Not Vault 13.

I still think it's possible. The Enclave attacked Vault 13, just killed some guys at the entrance to get their message across, and then brought the rest back to the oil rig. And also left those experiments (deathclaws) behind.

UNless the people from Interplay were paying NO attention when making that movie, it cannot be vault 13. Because:
1) In the movie, there is NO number on the vault doors. However, in both games there is clearly a number 13 on the vault doors.
2) You can see the entrance of the cave from the point of view of the vault doors, while the cave in the game is much much longer and even with a bend in it.
3) There is even a hatch to the side of the vault door, I'm pretty confident I never saw that before either.
