Look, Ma! Two Heads!

A lot of people hate this weapon because it deals too little damage and doesn't have lowered ap costs. A lot of people will use the Gauss Pistol as their sidearm of choice. But for me, I found the Needler Pistol much to my liking and I use it as one of my endgame weapons.
Here's why:
Apparently, the AP cartridges that you can use with it actually penetrate armor as they're supposed to (the only other ammo that can do this is the AP rocket). Because of the damage modifier, the AP cartridges can actually penetrate armor better than any other ammo used by small guns. It says on the Fallout wikia that when loaded with AP cartridges, the Needler Pistol deals double damage!
I have tested this in previous recent playthroughs and found that the Needler Pistol when loaded with these cartridges actually deals more damage to armored foes than the .223 Pistol, the Gauss Pistol, and even the Gauss Rifle! Thanks to the AP cartridges, the Needler Pistol can deal more damage to Frank Horrigan than any other single shot small gun!
So I advise everyone who reads this to stock up on your AP cartridges whenever you can!
