I started listening to them when Hybrid Theory came out (the LP not the EP), so early middle school years were dominated by nu-metal, then they fell out of favor with me and Minutes to Midnight didn't really help (a few songs were good, Bleed it out is one), nor did "New Divide" whichi is exactly the same as "What I've Done".

The new album is something new that doesn't suck, it doesn't sound like generic alt rock (Minutes) or generic nu-metal (Hybrid, Meteroa).
 
I started with Linkin Park when I was about 10, or something, with Meteora. Liked Hybrid Theory, but Minutes and this new album I don't. Which is curious since I'm not a fan of nu-metal (at least not anymore), but still appreciate older stuff. Similar thing with 'knot, Papa Roach and some other bands...
