The only thing FO4 did right

Badger Nutsack
Berets

Seriously, berets look so much nicer in FO4. In FNV the regular beret(not first recon) looked like it was tiny, unable to fit your head. Boone's 1st Recon looks cool but looks super dirty.

I'm appreciative of how the player character doesn't go bald everytime a hat is equipped anymore, now the hair is tucked in under the hat. This is one of the rare occasions where the developers focus so much on "the little things" like skeletons, hats, clothes and easter eggs, that they forget to make the main game properly. The opposite is usually the case with AAA games.

In FO3 and FNV the hair still appeared on most hats but it looked weird and like your hair was completely different.

Fallout 4 just generally looks better; it's no real achievement on its part. Graphical upgrade should be expected by a sequel eight years in the making.

If they legitimately needed eight years just to get current-generation graphics to work on their engine, they're either real cheapskates who save coupons for everything or they have their priorities gravely misplaced. Wouldn't be surprised either - most of the VAs involved are low-profile, meaning they were too cheap to hire those who had significant experience.

And yet when you put your gun away it disappears from third-person view, rather than being holstered as in the previous games.

I don't know if I'd consider it "right", but it's definitely one of the cleverest things that Bethesda's ever done and I commend them for it.

The Suicider super mutant's beeping noise is comprised of a Shepard's tone, an illusion where a looping sound seems to be continuously rising in pitch.

It's a small detail, sure, but surprisingly well done for a company like Bethesda.

Right, it's been a while. Still, weird that after Oblivion/Fallout 3/NV/Skyrim they're suddenly gone again.
After Morrowind they did away with layered armor probably due to player demand to have visible weapons in 3rd person, now layers are back in FO4 and same engine, same problems.
