THE orange box

Minor spoilers.

Just finished Ep:2. Definitely better than ep:1, and longer too, I think. The strider battle was very cool and it's beautiful, even on a FX 5200. Thanks, Valve!

What bugged me to no end, though, is the vort's "Good job, Freeman." After surviving all that crap in hl2, destroying the citadel and all, I don't need you to tell me I did good, smooth skin. Especially after I solved a simple puzzle and killed a zombie or two.

WARNING MAJOR SPOILER BELOW:

The ending was predictable, too. "When you get back, we've got a lot to talk about." Gee, I sure hope nothing bad happens to him before I get back!

Overall, very cool. The story is going strange places, but still, great game.

Don't spoil the ending. I took the liberty of hiding that spoiler and anyone who has not played Orange Box yet, don't look what's written there or quote the post to reply. The story is too awesome to be destroyed like that.

I loved the Orange Box. It's like a Companion Cube to me.

For those who played Episode 1:

I thought the coolest moment in the whole game (including HL2 and Ep2) was in a citadel room with Alyx when something pops up on the screens and some red flashes appear and she starts freaking out "let's get out of here!" I don't know why but that moment was actually freaky in a really cool way.

Episode two was more fun overall. Also, I think Source is truly an amazing engine, when those wooden buildings blew up it looked frigging amazing with all those particles being blown away and the game didn't even freeze or slow down.

The only thing is the music was better in HL2, it's still great in the episodes but not as good. More of electronic music would fit better, if you ask me.
