See, at first I thought I'd go with a monochromatic hair for her like I did for the others, but after considering it, I think that some shining would make her look better.

Hm-- I don't know. Although the shining one does look more "3D," I don't know if that really fits with the "feel" of the rest of them. Could just be me, I guess. These are great drawings, though.

I understand your point. In fact, that's precisely why I did it shinyless at first. But there were two reasons that made me change my mind: the way it looked compared to the other girls (whose hair are better defined since the black outlines are differentiated from the hair color); and the fact that other oficial Vault Boy pics also depict shinings in black hair, like for example the Slayer! perk image

But I wouldn't want to further derail this thread with this unrelated issue. I think that we should just adapt the two images to Fallout pic format and select the one that looks better.

You won't want me to turn this thread into an ADULTS ONLY one, will you?

... Because I could easily achieve that, y'know? :wiggle:

I like the hair when it's shiny, but IMO the 'shine' doesn't need to be a new colour - just see what it looks like in B&W (i.e. replace the grey with white).

Well, replacing the grey with white in that version of the pic makes the hair too "shiny" in my opinion; if it has to be B&W, it's better to make a thinner shining for the ocasion.

Anyway, here are the three versions of shining (the original grey, the grey replaced with white and the thinner white). I'll leave them here and you all choose whichever you like:

In my opinion, it should be chosen the one which looked better once scaled and adapted to the Fallout pic format.

out of the 3, the 1st one is the best.

well... that my opinion.

All 3 of them are Fallout worthy. Very impressed by your work here.

You ARE the artist of Vaultgirl!!

The second 'bucket head' image reduced for the character screen...it could be sharpened, but it's just a test. The white highlights are fine IMO. This is close to actual size in-game, that's if you play at 640x480, or 800x600...

Well, it's progressing well, you are tireless LionXavier ^^ ! Its would be cool that you can make those of " Long hair dude " and the " Bald dude ", I really want to see your skills on Vault Boy men and it would give them a real style like those of women !

Here are the three images in standart format  (the last is the best for me) :

Strange is it just me or there are more and more people with awesome skills? I really like where this is going now there are pics for the female chars and they are pretty cool!

No, it's just you, I'm fairly certain that there have always been people with awesome skills on here, they are probably just working in secret.

Absolutely fantastic, lionxavier. You really nailed her. She's cute, but not too sexy so as to be distracting from the fact that she's the chosen one. :ok: Awesome work.

I prefer the one above. I don't think the hair shine adds much.
Looking forward to your take on the the bald dude.

I'm really sorry I keep derailing this thread with this issue, but I hope this will solve it. After some testing, I've come to the conclussion that, for the scale and the format the Fallout images use, it's better to simply put some defining white lines in the hair instead of a more complex highlighting:

So, Snake, this would be the definitive pic:

Well, the thing is that the original model for the Male Appearance image is an edit of the Fast Metabolism trait image, so anything I could make wouldn't look nearly as "oficial" as the actual image. But hey, since you mention it, maybe I'll give it a go one of these days, just to see how it results :)

You're right, Josan12, the shining isn't really fitting for the Fallout image format; but I still think that some thin defining lines make it look better, as it's shown above.

Again, good stuff LionXavier.

I don't like the 'bucket-head' part of the text description though.

I think that this looks really good. I feel like it gives a nice effect without making it too "complicated" or detracting from the vault-boy feel. :boy:

Me too. Kind words about silky, shinning natural beauty would be pleasant. However, the pictures are exceptional good - you are very talented. :ok:

Well, that's just the default description the Appearance mod comes with. Anyway, I gess it's just as easy to customize it as to do so with the image.

That's exactly what I wanted to achieve. Glad to see you think I did it. Thanks.
