To Goris or...Not

First time out of the vault
Greetings,

Returning to Vault 13 finds that all the Deathclaws but Goris have been slaughtered! :< Cursed Enclave and the kinda mutant looking tall gentlemen :>
Anyhow, Goris wants to join my party, but is he any good? Right now I have Vic, Sulik, Cassidy, Marcus and K-9 (Who I think I will drop for Goris). Seeing as I'll be taking a boat trip to the Enclave Oil Rig soon, it looks like they'll be some fighting :>

Any advice appreciated.

If you're going to the oilrig, i suggest you leave Goris behind.
Why bother taking Goris with you and leave K-9 behind, when you have to leave all of your party mebers behind before you enter the oilrig anyway
(at least I always went to the oilrig alone, is it even possible to do it otherwise?)
 
When you finish the game, select "play on" in the window appearing after the end movie.
Wander the wastes with your party members killing people (and K-9, then replace him with Goris).
 
Its a good idea to change K-9 for goris, but in the oil rig, if you want to win more easily, put your party members in the second room (after you get out of the shit, ehr... ship), so go alone trough the oil rig. Make sure you have a power armor or something big covering your face, so, you will only fight in thew exit of the oil rig with Horrigan!! ( yes, that kinda mutant looking tall gentlemen)

You CAN bring your whole crew to the rig if you want, I always have. If you have only human members with power armor, you wont be attacked. But if you have a mutie, or a deathclaw you get attacked right off.

Take em if you want to, its just as easy to go alone, and then take out you know who alone.

That's why he shouldn't leave K-9 behind and take Goris, until he finishes the game.
 
So a good idea would to leave Marcus behind and bring the others along with me into the rig? Poor Marcus! ;>

Or you can take Marcus and tell him to wait near the first room you enter. Nobody attacks you there...
 
Or you can take everybody and come in shooting... Heroic approach and slaughtering everybody in the Enclave is sometimes a nice change from typical Mr. Nice Guy diplomatic approach.
 
It,s useless to take anyone to the Oil rig, because they not gonna make it - the people from your village run faster, pushing your friends aside, and taking all the place in the oil tanker making it look like the Noa's Arc :)

But talking about the best crew for the wastes' aftergame I would suggest: Cassidy (gauss rifle + power armor), Vik (gauss rifle + power armor), skynet (yet again give him gauss + fast autorepair even in combat), Sulik ( ye ye, that tribal is genius with a 233 pistol even against enclave guards ).

If this crew is not deadly enough, you can add marcus with plazma rifle, but without any armor, he is as soft as all muties in the FO1, plus his size helps him to catch all the bullets from the enemy's miniguns.
