Today in WOW

This is sad.

Women should notbe allowed to play online games, it draws attention away from good ol' H&S.

I must say I have never heard of or witnessed experiences like those described in this article. Sure, gamers tend to act silly around girls, but I have never seen them act *that* retarded - and I played Diablo and Diablo II on battle.net for *years*. Unless Diablo II community is more mature than the WoW community (yeah, right), this girl has really had the misfortune of running into the worst bunches of socially challenged miscreants the Internet has to offer.

My sister gets the same all the time on that game on non-RP servers, it's quite funny. :D

Your sister plays WoW?!

Thats... I don't really know what that is...

Walls of reality are crumbling...

90% of MMO player has penis. So it's not surprise to say if they know one of the player is al female they will start circling her like bees on honey. :D

Female version of Rosh sounds hawt. But since it's his sister, I dare not.

It deffinitely is. I was once recruiting someone into my clan. Over MSN I discovered that he (who else could they be) was actually a she. I sought of felt guilty for being shocked. She couldnt really understand when I apologised after uttering something like "ZOMFG RLY???". Sad that they are used to shit like that.

it's the same everywhere... no matter what game, guys will act like morons when being around boobs it's a law of nature.

and VB, i played CS a long time & i've am in one of the top WoW EU guilds, and i can honestly say, CS players were more apt to deal with girls...

anyhow, there is something about getting excited over a girl that probably lives 1000km away and most likely is a fat 30 year old living in his mothers basement that i cant quite fathom.

btw you should check the "say hello"-thread here on NMA, it's exactly the same: "omigawd, boobs!"

i think it's a universal phenomenon. guys see (or think of) boobs & loose the ability to think straight. be it on the internet or real life.

Female version of Rosh sounds old. Sorry, geezer.

Better yet, check out the Dove hello thread on the Order forum, where everyone jumped to conclusion he was a chick (based on his name, of course) and began hitting on him. Dove then explained he was a guy and eventually posted a picture of himself, creating even more perplexity.

Hahaha! Not entirely so...I try to be more logical in my approach, given that I went through debate classes; she can just go for straight up BITCH sometimes. So that catches them even more off guard in WOW. :D

And....yes, I admit to playing it on occasion, but not too much. She likes having a hunting partner, and despite my dislike for how simplistic the game is and how they trashed the mechanics they were hoping originally for (not to mention the AH stupidity of it being in only ONE cap city per side - lagsville and it compromises your population dynamics from the START), I do competently play and do enjoy a fair amount of PvP. It does let me get my PvP fix on without having to re-load UO, AC or DAoC for a cameo of Eliezer Havelock to re-appear for those who STILL haven't left the game and who STILL remember the spymaster. Royal purple jester cap and everything.

A decent chuckle, yeah. I tend to only cock an eyebrow at those who display maturity and intelligence, can handle themselves around the hormone patrol, and don't play the "I have tits!" game as some kind of excuse as to why they should get away with anything and everything. The Hiltonite Whores are only good for one thing, and that's if they keep their mouth shut during it - unless you choose to avoid any possibility of them actually contributing to the gene pool, and use their mouth instead.

Remember that one whining girl, who claimed to be a nursing student but had absolutely no ability to pay attention to detail, who was upset at how she was rebuked about posting wrong multiple times over, then after giving an attitude, tried to use the tits card, and said "I bet you wouldn't be so mean to be if you found out I was a girl, but then I'd have to show my tits to make you happy"?*

In e-mail, I told her I wouldn't even sling yogurt onto her face out of pity, because then she'd make me feel like an intellectual pedophile.

* - Hence the MtG: Morons parody gallery we have here at NMA, and where I came up with the term. Thanks, girl, wherever you are. I bet you're taking the course every nurse found to be too unobservant and stupid takes as a new major.

Pole-Dancing 101.

WoW *is* currently one of the most worthwhile MMO experiences, mainly due to absence of any competition of note. Nobody counts SOE, with their utter incompetence in dealing with SW:Galaxies and Everquest II. The former is essentially dead (and it takes special ineptitude to kill off an MMORPG with the *Star Wars* license), while the latter is faring so poorly they had to stoop to aggressively using the main selling point of any hopelessly shallow and unimaginative title - namely, boobies. Matrix Online sucks as well, Guild Wars isn't really an MMORPG to begin with, AC2 is dead, Lineage 2 is rife with Chinese kids farming for phat lewt, Final Fantasy is... well, Final Fantasy, and pretty much everything else is over four years old, stagnating and with no hope of ever getting a proper overhaul.

It does let me get my PvP fix on without having to re-load UO, AC or DAoC for a cameo of Eliezer Havelock to re-appear for those who STILL haven't left the game and who STILL remember the spymaster. Royal purple jester cap and everything.
I don't know how AC and DAoC are these days, but after EA whored out UO (or rather, took the whoring out of UO to a whole new level) for the white trash ninja audience with Sham-urai Empire, I wouldn't touch that game with a ten foot pole. With due exception of good RP shards, of course.

Well, she can dance around my pole any day. :D

Out of topic.
I'm surprise you didn't mention Anarchy Online. Think Everquest with sci-fi setting. 8)

The reason why WoW is so well-known around is because Blizzard has tons of money from selling W3 and Starcraft. So they can affort to hire people to release fresh content almost ... monthly.

not true atm

all capitals got AH's now & they're linked per faction.

3x horde
3x neutral
3x alliance

but for the rest, yeah, you're right, but it's still so bloddy addictive...

Hehehehe.

That was cool.

Awesome thing is you can find that thread on the same page of the vats as DiamondGypsy's "Thought for the day" thread. Priceless.

I know that they have expanded the AH presence, but it has forever structured the population dynamic for Ironforge and Orgrimmar, which has been proven to be a problem for both system performance and client performance.

Which was pretty foolish of them to release it like that, as it was mentioned numerous times in the Beta.
