The independent game industry sure has grown. BookWorm Adventures had a budget of 700,000 USD over three years time, but it's still an indie title.

Deep RPGs sure aren't indie game-popular, tho'.

I must say I haven't played a lot of games from that list. BookWorm Adventures, Geneforge 3 and 4 and Minions of Mirth is pretty much it. How about you?

Actually, I like Geneforge and Avernum both better than the old Exile games, tho' I'm not sure if I tried 3 and I never played them much.

Still, I finished Avernum 4 too recently. I can't get into Spiderweb games too close together
 
I haven't played most of them.

I did play Jets'n'Guns, Mexican Motor Mafia, Geneforge(s) and Weird Worlds, pretty damn cool games. Particularly, Weird Worlds is very cool, <3.

Also, i see a couple of titles that could provide some fun, thanks for posting BN. :)
 
If you like indy games, pay attention to a game coming out called Braid (braid-game.com, I believe). I played it at E3 when I thought i was going to get dinner before meeting D3, and the game is ADDICTING. It's basically Mario and Prince of Persia meets a puzzle game; you have the 2d platforming where you jump on heads to kill guys, but you can also rewind time (enemies keep moving forward). Each level has puzzle pieces you need to collect, and you can only get to the final level by collecting allt he pieces throughout the game and completing the jigsaw puzzle.

I should be getting a more complete build sometime in the next day or two for a longer article, so I'm sure I can give more info on it then.
