Tracking down a Fallout book

Zyte

First time out of the vault
Hey guys,

A couple of months ago, I was at this bar in Finland, chatting with a random dude. He told me about this awesome book, called Fallout (or at least I thought that's what it was called. The music was pretty laud). I'm unsure whether the book was supposed to be based on the game or the other way around (or maybe it was just written by a fan, but I doubt it) All I remember was that the book sounded awesome: post nuclear war, bottle caps as coins, soviet patrols for mutants, an interesting story and all... The problem is that I haven't found any trace of the book in internet or libraries. Could anyone point me to the right direction? It would be much appreciated!

I think the random dude in that bar in Finland might have been referring to The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte (I know that last vowel needs them double dots on top of it, but that key is broken on my keyboard, so I hope you don't think I'm being rude), but I might be wrong.

EDIT: After some pondering on the toilet I came to the conclusion that the rabid dude in that restaurant in Switzerland could not possibly have been referring to The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (in fact: what the hell was I thinking to even suggest such a thing?) but I hope to have been of some service nonetheless.

-- alec, always glad to help

I'm puzzled. I checked The Tenant of Wildfell Hall out and found that it has nothing to do with Fallout, mutants or any sci-fi for that matter (obviously, since it was written in 1848, exactly 50 years before the birth of the genre). However, it is written in form of letters from Gilbert Markham to his brother-in-law, which sounds vaguelly familiar to me. In fact, I think the book I'm looking for might have been written in that form, so I'm curious, what made you suggest just this book?

Thanks, I guess

Bad alec.

Also, ehm, you're sure he was talking about a book and not just the game?

Well, the fact that this encounter happened in a bar leads me to believe there was some misunderstandings. As far as I know, there are no Fallout books (as in fiction novels), just strategy guides for the games.

He was talking about a book. But yes, there has probably been some kind of misunderstanding, since the book is nowhere to be found. Thanks anyway!
