This Mod balances the game for Multiplayer Deathmatches (Human Vs Human) in Turn-Based Mode.​

Major Changes:

- FTSE! Ftse got implemented and thus were now benefitting from all the nice bugfixes and addons that come along with it. Big Propz to Melindil!
- Beeing able to mod perks now, we replaced the most useless ones with new ones that are more fitting.
- 31 athmospheric maps, each with its own setting, sounds and a goal to reach, thus making the gameplay more eventful, strategic and replayable. (29 new 2Player maps & 2 new 2-4Player maps)
- 3.0 update added Critters to some of the maps. Dont disturb them or they might get angry...
- 3.0 update added Events. All maps now got certain map specific random events like pathblocking rubble, minefields, radiationleaks etc. Tremendously increases the replayability!
- 3.0 update features a major Weapons update. Tons of new weapons and stuff were added. Now is the best time to play this mod! Big Propz to Nadeauhugo for all the awesome new sprites and tiles!
- 3.0 added secondary modes to many weapons, thus giving you more options to battle.
- 3.0 added new Drugs! Drugs and Stimpacks have higher chance of Overdose, checked against the Chars Endurance and thus making First-Aid and Doctor more viable. Dont smoke too much Weed!
- 3.0 A workaround for First-Aid and Doctor has been added thanks to Melendils FTSE. If the workaround is active you might waste a few APs but healing will work instead of fail.
- 3.0 added New Armors and Ammunitions. Everything is better fitting and balanced now.
- A Unique new Armor system. Armors now have different resistances for each damage type so you are more likely to know what kind of resistance your enemy has by just seeing what he wears.
Thus you can always choose the right weapon against your target if you diversified your team.
Leather protects best against Fire Damage but grants only little protection against the rest.
Metal is good against explosions but weak against energy damage,
Power Armor is great against energy damage but vunerable against fire,
Combat Armor(aka Enviro) is made best against normal damage but is vunerable to explosions,
Mutants are the strongest but got their weak spot at gas (acid) damage.
Using drugs will get you drugged now. This causes headaches and does minor damage sometimes and is checked against poison resistance.
- Plasma weapons now do area damage while Laserweapons benefit from their Range and are more likely to do a crit.
- Remote Traps are a great fun in turnbased aswell,
so many maps got a small stockpile near your spawning point and the locked cabinets everywhere contain mostly trapskill related stuffs and drugs, some contain midtier weapons too.
There should be no more than 75 lockpick skill needed to open the difficult-most snap-latched cabinets if you got a lockpickset in your hand.
- Locked doors are identifiably as such now. All doors and gates supposed to, are lockable now.
- Critical chance for all of the weapons lowered to make high luck, critcal chance and better criticals more attractive for snipers and for hth knife-users aswell.
Knives can aim precisely to score a crit while Bluntweapons will most likely cause knockover, just like most bursting does.
- Complete Armor, Drugs and Weapon stats as .txt file.
- update 3.0 - 3.0a: just alot of lastminute .txt related stuff and lots of smaller visual fixes to the maps. Added difficulty & info to weapons ingame.

Installation and Starting the Mod:

Tbmod3.0a.zip comes with everything you need, just unzip it to a folder of your choice. It's standalone now.
Start the mod with the Tbmod.exe - select Turnbasedmod - host a game - select the mission you want to play from the tbmod folder - wait for your Buddy to join - play!
Ofc you want to create a team of at least 6 soldiers first.



Tips and Tricks:

- If some roof blocks your view try selecting other characters of your squad, even the dead ones
- When shooting area weapons its often better to aim at the ground in front of the target so you get better percentages
- Holding Alt while moving will make the char preserve the AP for shooting the currently selected weapon
- Pressing w to immediately stop a characters movement is very useful
- Right-clicking on the Overwatch button lets you choose the percentage the char shoots, likewise right-clicking on the precise shooting icon of your weapon lets you make called shots in overwatch.
- The character will always try to go to a spot on the same level, so if you want to go up or down one level you should always click directly on the ladder or stairs, or else it might take another route.



Bugs:

- After falling down a ladder the character is sometimes unconscious to long, pressing crouch helps. (Nobody forced you to end turn hanging on a ladder so its your fault anyways.)
(- 3.0 Being the first version of turnbasedmod with active critters. There still may be some issues related to them. So far the ones we implemented are looking good to us. Nonetheless, tests showed that having too many critters can cause outofsync in some cases. Were adressing that issue in possible future updates. The coop-map is put on hold due to that.)



LibreOffice Campaign Sheet:

Included with this Mod are LibreOffice Character sheets to play a continued 2-player campaign. Note that this Document makes use of Macros to copy around values between sheets. We assure you they are safe to use :) If unsure, LibreOffice gives you the option to inspect them before opening) Start out with creating 8 characters at level 1. Next open Campaign.ods with LibreOffice, enter the names and race into the Campaign sheet, choose starting points and finally Click "New Game". Now print out page 3 and 4 and levelup your Characters according to their points. Play a few rounds and note the actions of your characters during play. After a session fill in the actions for both teams on the Campaign sheet. When ready press "Process Data" and note the updated points on your personal sheets. Now prepare your characters with their respective points. Note that you should set Allow XP to off and points limit to 150000 in the options of the host.



House Rules:

We play this mod in Indiviual Turn-based mode with 100% friendly fire and custom characters.
No Dogs, No Deathclaws and No Robots. The Mod isnt made to fit them though they are playable if youre really desperate.
The Teams we are playing consist of 4 Humans 2 Mutants and 2 Ghouls usually and then we choose 6 of that pool for each round we play.



Linux:

We recommend wine version 6.0.4 as we experienced frequent out of syncs and graphic corruption with newer wine versions. You will need to install the directplay dlls. Probably easiest to get them is to install winetricks from your distribution and do "winetricks directplay".

And it would help to give some details about the mod, turnbased modification doesn't tell us diddly squat since it's a turnbased game.
 
Is this mod real or a mind wank? I would like to check it out, can you upload it to rapidshare or something?

Here are shots of some of the levels in the mod.

There are not so much new graphics in the mod it is mostly about balancing the game for turn based play. For example the maps are much smaller than the usual stuff you can get here and have more cover and so on...

I haven't gotten to this mod yet, but I'm looking forward to it. It's nice to see some new FOT content; the preview maps look great!
 
Rapidshare only has 90 day lifespan if there is no download. Maggit seem downloaded and maybe you can ask him from his myspace website. Maybe he will be as nice as OTB, :D.
 
Hey Potato, 5k is ok, but i prefer lower chars like 1k or so but thats just my preference.

You could also start a Campaign game by printing out the 2. page in the Fallout.ods with OpenOfffice and note your kills etc on it. Then after a session use page 1 to calculate the points for your chars and level them. This way you can take your Characters from 250 up to 10k or so.
