According to 4players.de, Ubisoft sent out a press release announcing they are publishing Fallout 3 in several European countries. This is a bit odd in light of ZeniMax opening a London office, so hopefully we'll hear more about this later. A translation of the 4players newspost:
Ubisoft has gone into agreement with Bethesda Softworks and has become the seller of the post-apocalyptic role-playing game in large parts of Europe, including Germany, Switzerland and Austria. This comes from a press release of the publisher. In this it stays with the indicated release date of Autumn this year. Alain Corre, Executive Directorf with Ubisoft knows that expectations are enormous for the popularly anticipated sequel and is sure, "that Fallout 3 will have the success of the earlier blockbuster, like for example TES IV: Oblivion".
Link: 4players.de Ubisoft übernimmt Vertrieb.

Thanks Lexx.

EDIT: Note that the post isn't 100% clear if this is "publish" or "distribute". It's possible ZeniMax Europe will be publishing, while Ubisoft distributes.

FUCK THAT...Ubisoft's french localisation of Oblivion was terrible. If I am to buy Fallout 3, it's gonna be an english version.

lol. The german localisation was also shitty. :) So it seems like it was everywhere shitty (for the localisation perspective at least).

Yeah, but there are contractors for that. I don't know.

Someone suggested to me that perhaps ZeniMax Europe will publish and Ubisoft will distribute. The language in this piece certainly isn't clear on it, but it would be possible.

localized Bethesda game = most of mods won't work.
If there will be Construction Set for Fallout 3 of course (is there any official news about that?).

"Bethesda on Fallout 3 PC spec: It will be “similar to what Oblivion was for its time”"

But on the screens it doesn't looks like that.

In some territories in Europe, Bethesda will use local companies to ship the title to retail outlets under limited distribution arrangements. This is what the Ubi announcement refers to

So yeah,Bethesda publishes, does marketing and distributes everywhere, but in some places they will use those limited distribution arrangements.

it wasnt the french localization that sucked ass... you have to look at the source material

The Australian localisation was the worst of all.

Does it change anything who distributes it? Does it mean there's a hope for a better collector's edition?
