UFO-2007. Unknown Project.

This is really looking good. Can you say anything about the combat system? i assume it is something like the original X-Com?

Damn... now i need to find a copy of Enemy unknown :P
 
I love this project even if it's only because it gives me the chance to read 1101's amazingly cool Renglish.

Hmm... Thanks. I'll see if I can find it. I'm going to be ordering Fallout Tactics online somewhere, maybe Amazon, and I'll see if they have that also. Any suggestions on where to order either from? From what little I've found out, it would be better to buy Fallout Radioactive but that's not available here. *sigh*

As for 1101 and his game, your game looks very nice, but these are only 3D Renders? Have you not found/made an engine for it yet? I hope you can finish this sometime in the future, I've always been a big fan of X-Com but was a bit upset with UFO: Aftermath so now I guess I can look forward to your game instead. :)
 
Unforunately, abandonware, is still considered warez, you can talk about it, but not post links to it.
 
I apologize, I didn't know that. I was always under the impression that abandonware sites had permission to share them or they were allowed to be shared after a certain number of years, but I read on their site and learned something that I didn't know (though I wonder where I heard about them being able to be shared?). Anyway, I'm sorry again. There is a popular Abandonware site out there and I'm sure anyone can find it if they type the right words in. All the X-Com games are considered abandonware, so you can find them on those sites if you want to try and get them. :)

It is? Not true abandonware if i recall correctly, just old games that people think is abandonware but in fact aren`t, or did this change?
 
Last time someone posted links to that site, they got chided pretty bad, and the post was edited to remove the links.

That's some nice renders you've got there, at least the concept art seems good.

Until I see an ingame video though, it's all vapour. Not wanting to sound like I'm trying to just ruin things out of spite, but it seems way too early to say much of anything about this if the engine isn't going to be ready until 2007. All you have now is concept art and some renders, which is a long way off making a game, let alone a good one.

But I do wish you all the best with it, you've got some talented artists.

I'd be worried if you felt any other way, don't sweat it. I just like to inject a bit of pessimism into the thread. I do mean it when I say I hope it goes well for you. Just be careful if you trip up, and be prepared to take a few shots from folk if you don't deliver the goods. I've seen some pretty brutal forum beatings for that. :wink:
