I'm sorry.. what was that?

Imperial Guard > Space Marines

Be a cool space marine all you want, but we have the Baneblade and WE'RE GONNA FUCKING GRIND YOU INTO THE GROUND BITCH.

I have to agree with this. IG is awesome, what with the Commissars and Death Korps of Krieg etc.

Someone at my gaming club is going to buy a Death Korp army, considering a squad costs £30 and he has no job this may take him a while.
I'm sticking with the Steel Legion until Forge World puts down it's prices which will be shortly after flying pigs are found on a blue moon. :V

It sounds interesting, but why does it always have to be Space Marines, why not a different race. That doesn't bother me too much though I just hope it turns out good.

Space Marines are just that kinda poster boy race. It'd be good to see an IG movie or something, only thing is, it'd be hard to get attached to too many characters, since they'd be walking straight into the meat grinder next scene against Chaos and things of that sort.

Pfft, marines, they're so overrated. One on one they are though, sure, but there are how many chapters out there? At 1000 marines a chapter that's got to be even less than one marine for a fraction of the total of Imperial planets.

That's why some even think they are a legend, that they don't even exist, they appear only occasionally here and there to achieve their own personal agendas.

The only military organization with galaxy wide presence, capable of mobilizing the necessary troops and materials for entire campaigns in a large enough scale and worried with the day to day safety of the Imperial citizens is the Imperial Guard.

Ok, now that I'm done praising my fav army... an Ultramarines movie? Could be good I guess, I am not going to judge it before I see it.

I rather not to expect too much from this type of movies though, that way if it is actually any good it will be a welcome surprise, and if not, I won't get too disappointed.

Tell him to check these out, they are not GW or FW, but they could be fielded as a large and economical Krieg army: http://www.wargamesfactory.com/AnnouncementRetrieve.aspx?ID=32119

I have a rather "large" Cadian army. Yeah, I know, the Cadians are the mos common guard figures out there, but I think that's what makes them cool too, it is the most standardized IG army and in a large scale with almost 100 figures and a few tanks, it is an awesome sight. I like to see the look on some of my opponent's faces when they see what they are going to play against (even if the numbers are compensated for the lack of raw strength)

Shame that most Chaos players fight with Chaos MARINES, I'd like to see more daemon armies for a change. Now those are spooky, and a worthy adversary for the Guard (imagine a lot of regular army guys trying to hold back a horde of daemons).

Theres a trailer already. I'm still waiting for more shootage to decide how much enthusiastic to be, though.

Aren't the armors too polished and smooth? :?

They look like made of polystyrene, and it's a CGI film...

C'mon, add some more paint chipping to those marines armour's, put some more detail into paint.... rendering them!

The new trailer looks rubbish, the teaser looked 1000 times better and had style, but this....

This must be a joke right? :S

lol, it looks interesting to say the least, but when I was playing Soulstorm, the most hilarious thing was to listen to Battle Sisters when you play their campaign.

I just love to hear the IG soldiers complaining, none of that Space Marine overly macho attitude bull crap.

"Chaos! What do we do sir?"
"Holy... Would you look at the size of 'em?"
"It's every soldier for himself!"
"Leave the wounded behind!"
"Where are those damn techpriests?!?"
"Flee! They're too much for us!!"
"Where's that damned artillery!?"
"We've been overrrun!!"
"Pull back, dammit!!"
"There are too many of them!"
"Tanks! Where're the bloody tanks?"
"Use the frags!"
"We cannot win! Run!"

And after all the chaos of battle is over:

"Thought they broke our backs...? Ha!"

I've always been intrigued by these dudes and the WH lore, but haven't ever got around to actually playing anything featuring them.

The trailer sucked, though. But I did like how blood gushed out from thar u-marine - looked like a puppet, that was awesome

Better yet, have some grand attack on Terra and make the movie about the Adeptus Custodes.

I forgot where it was, but there was a description of X # of Custodes fighting against Orks, and over Y hours they killed Z Orks, and if you did the math, it evened out to each Custodes killing 30 or 50 or 100+ Orks per second or something ridiculous like that.
