UnderRail released on Steam and GOG

Everything weighs too much. I had to pick the pack rat perk because I just love logging all that stuff around. And I still get overburdened constantly, next time I'll go with a 10 in strength.
And there's rarely a trader that buys my stuff. And if they do they don't have enough money or stuff I need. Gotta put more points in mechanical crafting so that I can recycle more items, I guess.

The game actively punishes hoarding and tries to keep players from Monty Hauling their way to massive wealth. I don't like how bitchy some traders are about the number of goods they'll accept either actually, but I still ended up with about 20k in charons just from quest rewards.

Yeah, I don't even need to sell stuff because I steal and scavenge enough to get around, so far. I never buy health hypos because you can steal them off almost everyone and recycling yields enough material for repeair kits. I usually find enough ammo, too. I mostly lug around stuff because I think I might need it later on.

I had a barrel outside hardcore city bar with about 30 tac vests and 30 crossbows in it, and a ton of other things as well, obviously. It doesn't take long before the merchant's money and goods is the limiting factor on how quickly you're getting obscenely rich rather than how much loot you can bring back or what they're willing to buy.

The only relevant thing to spend it all on is 3x super steel for 9k charons, and that's only relevant if you've got mechanical or, I think, tailoring. I did it 3 times (with cheat engine on 20x speed, of course) and got one 155 and one 145 quality sheet, and 7 mediocre or bad ones. 155 super steel armor reinforced with 3 extra sheets of super steel, 145 super steel boots reinforced with extra sheets of super steel (should have put them springs in instead in retrospect).

So... stop worrying about money. Srsly.

If you craft you could probably get obscenely rich by just crafting bad energy shields, psi-headbands, goggles and energy pistols from the low-weight stuff you loot.

I don't think I'll use heavy armour, sneaking around is just too much fun. So Agility- and Stealth-boosting overcoats are where it's at for me. Taking on more than two enemies at a time is always tricky, though. I should probably use traps more often (or at all). I'm currently wandering around in the Ironhead base*, just snooping around and occasionally killing small groups of enemies. The Dragunov sniper rifle I found earlier is rather useful although I have to eat the +1 Strength food to be able to use it (My char only has Strength 4... probably gonna use my next main stat point to up that)

*(I think that's what it is... I was actually looking for the missing train for Railroad Crossing but I constantly get sidetracked by all those intriguing nooks, shafts, tunnels, intersections, ...)

If you're using tactical vests and tabi boots then you only need one super steel sheet for the vest's ballistic panel. And maybe some super steel fibers for infused leather tabis if you'd prefer those to ninja tabis. That's assuming you're crafting at all.

Or you could blow all of your money on widescreen televisions and sweet drapes for your awesome Core City house! Don't, though.

My ninja Tabi boots are pretty cool. Can you craft a tactical vest with super steel that is below 15% armor penalty?

Already have that but I want to keep the bonus to dodge and evade and don't want it to impact my stealth. We'll see. I don't have access to super steel yet, anyway.

If your armour penalty is exactly 15%, then Nimble will reduce it to nothing and you'll still get the Dodge and Evasion bonuses. You can craft a tactical vest with a super steel sheet that has 15% armour penalty - any carrier except for galvanic or regenerative, no armour plate, black overcoat.

Cool. I might try that whenever I get the chance. I like the complexity of the crafting system but it can be confusing at times.

Hard to believe the game was made by just a few people (mainly one guy). It is very good and fills the Fallout niche well. Playing more of this than Fallout 4 now.

Now if we could just get Wasteland 3 going that would be greaaaaat.

There's a Fallout 4?
Underrail was updated yesterday, fixing some stuff that irked me a little. Like better fonts, icons instead of a drop-down menu for inventory management (plus batteries are in ammo now, where they should be) and enemy outlines in combat. Although sadly, Burrower eggs aren't highlighted and are still nearly impossible to shoot at when they are behind a wall.

I think it's better than the old one although I had gotten used to the old one by now. I thought it was horrible to read at first.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the new font either. The old font was hard to read when I first started playing it, but I got used to it and now the change is jarring.

Font looks fine to me. :/
