Unreal Tournament 2004

King of Creation

Vault Fossil
Just thought I'd mention this, since a lot of you have said you're anxiously awaiting UT2k4. The demo came out yesterday, and its wicked good. I suggest downloading it immediately. You can get it at http://www.fileplanet.com or at http://www.unrealtournament.com

Graphics really haven't changed that much, but the addition of vehicles is pretty awesome. And they brought back assault mode, which was one of the best modes ever.

Lucky bastards! I still can only play the original UT, due to my prehistoric computer. Ah well, UT is still good, me thinks.

Oooo yeah!! This is a buyer, I'll say! Really great game and very addictive. Anyone who hasn't tried it yet should stop whatever he or she is doing and play it right now.

Amen to that! I was rather disappointed when UT2003 came, since it wasn't very good compared to UT IMO. But this demo is VERY promising. Way to go Epic! You can find many mirrors for the download here.

What I like about UT2004 is the veichles(of course) The ability to play costum music, in game voice chat and the overall graphical improvement, Im soo buyi´ng this game along with Doom 3 and Halflife 2!

If anyone is really interested, do what I did! http://www.ebgames.com has the UT2k4 DVD Special Edition, which comes bundled with a logitech headset, and a chrome plated Unreal Symbol that you can attach to whatever, for only $39.99 ! I'd say that's a damn good deal. Especially if you do the EBSaver shipping method which is 0 dollars. HOLLLLA

EDIT: I got the DVD edition, cause the CD edition consists of 6 CDs. That's just a scratch situation waiting to happen. The entire game for the DVD version is just on a single DVD.

I finally got the demo today, and I've got to say this is one of the funnest games I've ever played - though I've never played an online game before so I have nothing to compare it to. Been on it two hours so far and I'm already addicted.

I totally agree with you. The vehicles are big, user friendly and fun. They even have a flying machine called Raptor (or something like that) !!! That game will be in my shopping list for sure. Until they launch the game I'm going to play the demo. see you at gamespy.

I like the vehicles in UT2004, but I wish they were more like the vehicles in Halo for PC, in terms of control. I guess I'm just playing Halo too much and got used to those type of vehicles controls. Either way, I hope you're able to customize those kind of controls in the full version.

The controls are very much like Halo XBOX though (camera, movement), which I like because I'm used to them.

I just wish they would have Halo style hop-in, for example for the Hellbender, if I get in on the left I am the driver, you on the right gets the EMP, dude on the rear gets the mounted Shock gun.
Instead of the order of entrance thing they got going now.
Onslaught is definetly noob friendly, unfortunately there is now approx. 1.5 million people playing ut2k4 which is not exacly a bad thing, but damm thats alot of noobs.

Replying a little late, but I believe that they do have keys assigned for that. I forget which keys exactly, but when you're near the vehicle I think fire, alt fire and Mouse3 will get you in the different parts of the vehicle.

Hmmm, I went to try it but havent been able to pull it off, Alt fire and fire dont work. Maybe different binds kinda like those other vehicles horns which correspond to a certain taunt animation, It might be like that. Im not denying that its not possible but if you have done it before, I would really like to know.

Well, my DVD Special Addition finally arrived. The install was pretty slow, but that was just probably due to the fact that it was installing over 5 gigs of data on my computer. The game itself definitely booted up faster than the demo did, though. There's also a bunch more game modes than there were in the demo, including Mutant, which is a pretty cool mode. I was a little disappointed with the small amount of Assault maps, but I imagine they'll release more, like they did with the map packs for 2003. The gameplay overall is spectacular. The AI is definitely improved, or at least it seems so. Cept, the bots that I drafted onto my team for single player are wicked stupid, and all the enemy bots dominate. But you can use voice commands to order them to do stuff. The DVD SE came bundled with a logitech headset, which I put to use right away. You can bark orders like "Alpha, ATTACK!" or "Foxtrot, Cover Me!" Its definitely cool. But overall, the game is tremendous. The graphics were polished up since UT2k3, but haven't changed all that much. The maps are awesome, and they've included a few classic maps, like the original UT CTF map "Face." I highly recommend this game to everyone.

Picked that one up over the weekend. Seems to play a lot more like the original UT than the 2003 version.

Wished I'd gotten the DVD version, but the local Circuit City sold out all of its copies before the store even opened (employees).

This one feels different somehow that I'm not able to express easily. Faster maybe? The weapons certainly seem to handle better as well.
