USS Constitution with Jet Engine: A parody to Star Blazers?

Is the USS Constitution seen in Fallout 4 a parody or the idea behind it comes from Star Blazers animated series? (Actually called Space Battleship Yamato. and indeed the ship itself was a reconstruction (and retrofitings) of the original IJN Yamato ... made of its own wrecks. and fitted with jet engines and an alien technology called 'Wave Motion Technology' comprising of something akin to 'perpetual engine' but capable of spacewarp. and a supergun that powered directly by the engine itself.

 
That's way too high class for Bethesda to be inspired by. My money is on Treasure Planet being their sole inspiration.

Is there a show with similar name? and were the Constitution crew more like Pirates of some sort?
