Van Buren tech demo questions

First time out of the vault
1. I've been trying to enter the Vault in Van Buren, but it always crashes when I get inside, no matter what I select. I've tried going in with the certain combination, such as "no armor, no weapon" and ''Weapon, but no armor". Is it based on luck?

2. Is it possible to take screenshots in the tech demo?

3. When you extract the files from the .grp files, how do you know what type of extension to sue to open the files? I"m using 1.1 of the .GRP Extractor, if that helps.
 
The tech demo has nothing after you reach the Vault entrance - so there's no hope. NO HOPE!

I can't answer your other questions, but I'm sure there are others who can.

If that's so, then how come the write up here mentions quests inside the Vault?
 
Shit, maybe you're right. I never managed to get in either. Although I recall people telling me you couldn't.
 
I managed to get in. It certainly is possible, maybe you're just unlucky.
Not all that much to do in there anyway though. :P

Is there an actual ending, or are you trapped in the Vault after finishing all of the quests?

Trapped.

Remember, it's a tutorial area. The outside of the vault teaches you combat and looting, then inside you're introduced to more dialogue, and lockpicking the door to the generator, and finally as a last quest either fixing the generator yourself or fixing the robot to do it.

Anyway, the demo is highly unstable - as we mentioned - so it's possible it just can't deal with something in your software/hardware setup and crashes because of it. You might try updating your drivers, turning off background programs and trying again, but I can't guarantee that'll help.

There's no screenshot function, but you can take screenshots with a program like Screen Capture Professional (really good, and free) or by pressing print screen and then pasting to Paint.

Don't know about question #3, tho'
