Vertibird Explosion

Crackler

First time out of the vault
I've played a little with After Effects and managed to create this short video of a Vertibird exploding.

I'm aware of a trifle audio delay, still there's nothing I can do about it now, but hopefully it won't bother you that much.

Well, it took me some time to fathom AE out, but the project itself was completed in a few days. Although most of the time was consumed by searching for its constituents, the final stage was done fairly quickly. Several hours I suppose.

But a master in this domain could accomplish it much more swiftly. :)

Sweet, but (maybe it's my comp) is there supposed to be such "lag" on the bright fire scene? It lasts too long, IMO. I think the explosion would look better if that was shortened down somewhat.
Otherwise really nice. :ok:

Not only that, it should fade out slower and not be so bright IMO. It's a simple explosion we're talking about, not a nuke.

ideas as to the future?

You want ideas? Alrighty then

Make a city with skyscrapers and nuke it :)

I've got to disagree, the reference info I was basing on is "The Vault" - Fallout wiki site.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/VB-02_Vertibird

It is said, that a single Vertibird can drop Mini Nukes, pointing us towards the fact, that there are supposed to be plenty, at least a few of those inside one. That is basically what I was relying on, I'm not completely sure if I'm right, but this information looks solid.

Heh, we'll see. :)

Hey man, that's beautiful. Really!

Any comments, critique, ideas as to the future?

huh, now all you have to do is to create a Fallout movie (but it may be too much to ask :) ).

But it could be.

Mini-nukes have been developed for anti-air use in the real world. More specificly, the americans developed mini-nuke missiles that were supposed to wipe out soviet bomber formations with one missile.

The project was not very popular for various reasons, but a good amount were produced (both guided & unguided variants).

They weren't very practical though.

Moreover, as I've written, my information is not trumped-up, I based it on Fallout wiki.

[e]If I were to make another movie, what should it be? Do you think any particular theme fits?[/e]

Fallout Van Buren: The Movie?

But it will be hell to make such a thing all on your own.

I actually like it a lot.

Not sure what exactly did you do there and with what tools?
Is it something edited or you made the vid from scratch?
