Well, it's that time of the year and here comes another attempt by Spike to Hollywood the video game industry, along with red carpet and all.

First off, any comments on the GOY nominees?

Also, there is an interesting thing that I've noticed, a few games are nominated in a lot of genres, is that to ensure they win something? The Best RPG and the Best PC games are also interesting.

I barely consider Dragon Age 2 a Rpg, but this is not surprising. Deus Ex: Human Revolution got RPG of the year from one gaming mag, and then they tossed Skyrim in as Game of the Year.

I am shocked and appalled that Saints row the third isn't nominated for game of the year. They went to all that hassle to make a dildo weapon and everything...

LOL, Skyrim won GOY AND RPG of the year. Witcher 2 didn't even win PC GOY, since that went to Portal 2. Uncharted 3 won PS 3 GOY, which just completely lost me. Modern Warfare 3 won best shooter and Mortal Kombat won best fighting.

Let the vitriol start flying now.

They are trying really hard, you know, even Charlie Sheen showed up. And I can't believe they dragged Jerry Rice to do this, I guess he needed something to do.

Here it is, folks, the evidence. This is what Todd wants all along and this is where we are going in the gaming industry. Hollywood celebrity status, producer system of making games, raising capital in the financial markets, and action film type of budgets and "realistic" gaming! Todd would be proud, he can finally be the action movie director that he wanted. Here comes the revolution, can you dig it?!
