Vic sucks...

... and thats the reason, why I made this mod for a few minutes.

The Vic-sucks-Mod changes Vic into the Ian-looking leatherjacked guy with blue pants.

the-vic-sucks-mod.png

That means in detail: Nothing more. This mod is just a optical modification. Vic is still the same, but with a different look AND now he can't use rifles and so on anymore, because this critter has not the animations that would be needed for using rifles.

By the way: I didn't tested this mod ingame (only in the mapper) so it would be nice, if someone could test it for me.

Why?

Also, why not just make the critter one of the guys who can use rifles?

Because I love the blue panties-critter more and I also didn't ever gave rifles to vic. ;)

Hmmm - I think you're missing the point that Vic's whole role in FO2 is as a fat and balding useless tag a long!

He's meant to be all useless and stupid looking!

Just my opinion ...

No. And it is not the point to change the hole Vic-role. I just wanted that he looks better for me.

He is as useless and stupid as before. The only difference: Now he can't use rifles and his outfti is better.

And: Nobody needs to install this. ;)

When I'll have some free time I'll add rifle animations for Ian and maybe for Katja.

I agree with Lexx. He looks much better now. Vic should be a trader in post-apoc world, instead of it he looks like some idiot from office. Another shitty critter in FO2 (like fucking Mobsters from New Reno). And he has crappy animations.

Yes, I have to agree. The most of the new critters in fallout 2 have shitty animations. (like the people in Frisco or the police guys in the NCR, and so on...)

It would be really cool, if you could make the rifle animations for Ian and Katja! :) But it's so much work... :/

Whoops! Another time travel.

Anyway, linkie is dead.

I'm thinking about playing RP, but I have a small-ish problem: B-team mod has been replaced with NPC armour mod and I want to play without it, but I can't play Fallout 2 without B-team mod, so the only option is to use Vic sucks mod to eliminate that retarded and AWFUL Vic critter from the game. Is this mod compatible with latest RP release at all?

Also, looks like Ian and Katja need a rifle! project become vaporware! :ugly: Maybe Pixie and/or x'il will pick up the challenge? :wiggle:

------------------------------EDIT

And what about Old maxx npc critter as a new Vic?

Heh. Here you can still grab it. But if you play with the RP, it can break Den quest stuff, because due to the way critter protos are handled, you have to overwrite the original map with the new proto (else you have to wait for Vic's first level up or so).

I played RP2.0 with npc armor mod (which is cool) and gave Vic a robe, so I never really see him. Worked very good for me. I think you can find some robes in Abbey, which is a tad north of Vault City, so it's still early in the beginning. Just don't give Vic armors before you get a robe. :P

Vic also "works" in power armor... First I gave him a robe, then a power armor and then advanced power armor. :>

I understand the Ian critter might (given the context of this thread) but why would the Katja critter need rifle set?

In any case, while the Ian rifle would be more annoying to make, a Katja rifle could be very easy...

Thanks Lexx.

No robes. I never liked them. They just doesn't fit there for me. I'd kill him pretty quick ;)

Dunno. I thought would be cool to see punk girl running around and killing stuff by using rifle

----------------------------EDIT

Of course, I'd like to see Katja like party member in Fallout 2, expanded by rifle set (I doubt it could be ever used in Fallout), but I know a shit about mapping/scripting stuff.

Yeah why not…but when I have some spare time…that might be in 2 years.

What about we build a completely new version of Vic - (the man is meant to be a tech not a gun slinger). He could be rebuilt from one of the current critters, and have a new head placed on his shoulders – the overseer for instance. To differentiate him we can alter the colors on his clothing…of course the body shape is different, so if there was to be an extension to the armor mod Vic would need to be completely rebuilt - Black Leather – Brown leather – Combat – Metal – the more I think about this, the more frightened I get. :look:

Third one looks cool. I couldn't see him as Vic, but the critter still looks cool. Some old fart in farmer clothes.

Nah, it's not about who is he, but how he looks. Ian critter works for me. All critters not powered by player's animations sucks. From a guy who is walking most of the game around me I expect cool looking/acting critter similar to Katja, Tycho, or Ian, not some fat office workers, or half-arsed peasants.

What, you don't think this are very fitting post-apoc retro/mad max/western styled companions? and amazing talking animal design?:
