I never played Vicky... EU has dominated my PI time.

Despite it's flaws, Victoria is still my overall favorite Paradox game ever. If you ever played Imperialism, it's a bit like that only vastly more complex.

FWIW, Victoria 2 is getting high praise from the Paradox forum posters for its polish and completeness. I've already seen many people calling it the best Paradox game ever. They are probably Vicky fans, though.

There's a demo out, too, which runs butter-smooth on my computer.

I'm still playing the hell out of EU3 (with all expansions) and getting a feel for HOI3 (with SF) so it'll be a while before I venture into a new PI game... although it seems that Vicky is most people's favourite PI franchise.

its not about how smooth it is, its about colossal time waste, in those games i tend to put a lot of thought and delicate planing, only to bump at game braking bugs time after time.

or in other words:

SF for HOI3 is really good and adds many little things to the gameplay.
vicky great but in my opinion its favored so because of its simplistic control.

There's something called "Project Serpent" coming from Paradox soon. The Rome forum is speculating that it's a Rome expansion, and serpent is a reference to Alexander's birth.
