Virtualdub codecs

I used to know how to install them, but I forget. Basically, Virtualdub comes completely devoid of codecs, and you need to install them manually. Can anyone provide me with a download link and some instructions for the most common codecs? I've googled around without success.

Maybe the K-lite codec pack ? I don't remember if these are just for decoding or also for encoding...

Use VirtualDubmod instead (Bunch of codec packs on that site too).

I am not sure if it fits really, but I use the VLC media player and you never have to worry about any codecs with it. But as said not sure if that really helps you.

No, I need it for editing. But I seem to have forgotten even the basics. I'll have to spend some time with it.
