Virus: Hoax or real threat?

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
I got this in an e-mail. I can't help thinking it's a prank. Namely because the network people here are actually pretty good and know what they're doing. I got this from some guy, who for some strnage reason, has my WORK e-mail address? Only like, 6 people on the planet have that..... Anyway here it is:

Hoax or real? (I'm on NT, So I sure hope it does destroy the operating system :) )

And the guy has my e-mail because he sent it to everyone in Parliament house.... Moron.... Some people nowadays.... HELLO!! There IS the network virus people you complete twat.

Go to the Symantec website & do a search for "jdbgmgr.exe". It has a nice write-up about the hoax.

"Did we give up when the GERMANS bombed Pearl Harbor?"
 
Viruses generally don't destroy the OS. People mostly do it themselves because otherwise they can't get the virus out properly. And if a mail like that says "delete your (fill in)", it is almost certainly a hoax.
