Weapons

Biometrics have limited uses, sadly. An owner of a new BMW that used his fingerprint to gain keyless entry had it stolen when a robber cut his finger off and used it to open and start the car. The Taliban would be able to figure it out fairly quickly, and wouldn't have any objections to doing so.

How exactly? I argued it's limited uses too, but stealing stuff with finger id is not profitable at all (what, carry the finger on the keychain?)

drive the car until you get to the chopshop & remove the sucky finger id check?

sjeez, not really hard to figure out Jaguar.

Haha....

Every chop shop definetly knows how to do that....IT'S MUCH BETTER THAN STEALING A NORMAL CAR ! Jeezzz Side...

Anyway, I meant that comment for ALL finger id assets. Was talking about metal storm, anyway. The same goes for a car. A fingerprint id is not valid if the finger is detached, the computer won't recognize it anyway.

Back to metal storm.

mythbusters got it to work easy, sure the computer was harder to crack, but the door only required a PHOTOCOPY of the persons fingerprint to open it.

me...

How much time did they have? Anyway...opening the door is not like, y'know, stealing and driving the car.

Just a photocopy, huh? (contemplating the rich guys` cars...hmm)

I think that gun security is going to be the next big thing in weapons development in the next 20years, but I think the fingerprint issue will have to be over come just like Foul Ole Ron said mythbusters did it with a photocopy moistened with a little saliva.

Conclusion: You've never played GTA.

you dont bother to steal a car like that unless you're sure you can get rid of it...

You know that's not even 30% the case. From the outside, it looks just like an expensive audi, or something.

Plus, you know how much is the demand for stolen finger id 150.000 cars? None, buddy.
