Kirk pwns all Captains in Star Trek, he wasn't afraid to lay down the law. And he was 100x the chick magnet of any other captain.

True, Kirk is a total bad ass. I just purchased the star trek movie box set and the TOS movies are easily better than the TNG movies (although first contact is incredible) Too bad he isn't going to be in the new trek movie...yet

Duke (as in doonesbury)

Claude Lebel

Loxley fallout one.

Rincewind.

Cassidy from the preacher comics.

All I can think of for now.

Hiram Yeager - Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt series.
Mattrim Cauton- Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series.
Frank Castle- The Punisher
Daredevel
Spawn
Riddick
Mouse - Matrix
Soup Nazi - Seinfield
Judge Dredd

Batman
Ghost Rider

After that, Mad Max played by Mel Gibson

Strider the ranger

Skandranon from the Black Gryphon. The other two books just sucked.

Doctor Daniel Jackson in both the movie and the series.

Doctor Who, from the new series.

Toboe from wolf's rain. I enjoyed the series... alot.

No Captain Jean Luc Picard fans?! OK I see a Benjamin Sisko fan, but C'mon! Picard was 10x the captian Sisko was! Picard was the explorer while Sisko was the 'home boy' at Deep Space 9. Picard specializes in first contact missions, diplomacy, he defeated the borg single handedly at wolf 359, he even has a battle tactic named after him.

Sisko is good at... baseball

Not that I dislike Sisko or anything :D

Capitan Jean Luc Picard!

Captain Janeway

Cobra Commander
Cheech Wizard
The Pink Panther
Flash Gordon (he plays football AND knows how to fly spaceships)
Flip from "Little Nemo"
Jimmy Corrigan (The Smartest Kid on Earth)
Ignatz Mouse
Tank Girl
Rat Fink
Beneath a Steel Sky's Joey
Daleks
Samuel Vimes
Ijon Tichy
Billy Pilgrim

Aand quite prolly lots more.

Indiana Jones
Sherlock Holmes
Y: The Last Man's Yorick Brown
Atticus Finch
The Tramp (shamelessly ripped from Alec), esp. as seen in Modern Times and The Great Dictator
Randall Patrick McMurphy
Dr. Strangelove's Major Kong
Firefly's... well... the entire cast.
Altered Carbon's Takeshi Kovachs
Snow Crash's Hiro Protagonist and Uncle Enzo.
The Life Aquatic's Steve Zissou
Ferris Bueller's Day Off's title character, plus Cameron and Principal Rooney
Little Shop of Horrors' Seymour Krelborne
The Shawshank Redemption's Andy DuFraine
Wyatt Earp as portrayed by Kurt Russel in Tombstone
Bela Lugosi and Ed Wood as portrayed (quite fictitiously) in Ed Wood.

And very nearly every major Batman villain. (Here's hoping Heath Ledger's Joker doesn't thoroughly blow.)

Like Wooz, I've skipped quite a few for the sake of brevity.

Edit: Now with even more brevity!
