Unless i've been given the wrong definition, being apolitical is having no interest and/or involvement in political matters. Which i am, from a governmental point of view.

Now, either i am applying the definition wrongly here (which i doubt, but am willing to accept), or you're confusing politics (in context of government-oriented politics) with politics outside of a government-oriented base, namely, in its broader sense which refers to any kind of decision-making and planning imbebed into other forms of social structures.
