    So they contain chemical fuel and chemical explosives?

    Yup. I call gameplay-mumbojumbo, but I guess you could justify it to some degree:
    Energy storage cells usually do contain various amounts of more-or-less nasty chemicals, so maybe there's some flammable stuff in there (sodium-ion battery for example).
    And while it doesn't make any sense for a nuclea fusion apparatus to go supercritical and explode, I guess you coudl rig it in a way that it produces way too much power and stores it somewhere, so when it gets shorted out it explodes or whatever. SCIENCE!
