What happened to Silver Style Entertainment?

I was interested in the game "The Fall - Last Days of Gaia". I've tried to get some information on Silver Styles and it appears their site is down. The Google cache says that the last posts in their Forum where in February (2008) roughly around the end of the month. I find this very odd since they appear to have a large, thriving community: 99,099 "Articles" (posts?) and 10,037 registered users.

With the site dead, I am wondering: What happened to them? I know that they haven't had a release in a long time. Did they go under?

Interestingly enough, the official game site for The Fall is still up and running.

I think their site's just down for whatever reason. It's been down for a bit before. As far as I know, they're still around. The Fall 2 has been rumoured, but I dunno, little news lately.

The English version of the Fall is long-since vapourware. I always found it funny how the English community of the Fall still stuck around. Tenacious bunch. But I wouldn't be surprised if they gave up by now.
 
If I can read the conversation text, I'll play it! From just playing it a little bit it looks like a good game. Not exactly what I would call Fallout-ish, but a good game none the less.

Its interesting how I can find very little information on this game, or the developer in general.

Also does anyone know where a copy of The Fall can be purchased?
 
For a few weeks or months the site was also down. I wanted to call them via phone and ask about it, etc. but then the site was up again.

The Fall is a good game and it is fun for me to play it. But it is a little bit to linear for my taste. :/ With the latest patches and so on it is also really playable (the first release was... well.. I won't talk about this anymore.....)

Nah, they're not dead :wink: They're part of The Games Company now, I think.

Good to see someone who is baffled by Silver Style's dissapearance! Anyone can help me with three things, too?

1. How I fix my jeep? I have a technologicaly savvy guy in my party, how can I tell him to fix my jeep (the armor level is almost all down, I still have a lot of fuel, though. Maybe the English mod switched the translation, so I have a lot of armor and few fuel?)

2. How can I open a container after the lock is destroyed?

3. Do someone knows if certain junk has some use? Like headphones or keyboards. I think I have a broken calculator, too.
 
To 1: You need a guy in your party with really good technic skills, as far as I can remember. With this guy you "use" the jeep. There should be a mechanic icon or something like this (the last time I played it, is long ago...). It can also be possible, that your mechanic guy needs the skill for that action. Can't remember....

To 2: What do you mean with destroyed? Did you use some explosives? Then it should work, if you just click on the container/ use it. Just like in Fallout.

To 3: You can build stuff with some junk. But I think the most is useless. I never used this.

Does anyone remember how to get the couriers to show up at the
prostitutes trahe ler?
I'm stuck about 10 hours into the game... enjoying it, and am waiting on the couriers to show up so I can spy on them and get the password I need to get into the drug lab.

HELP PLEASE - I am really enjoying the english mod on this game.
 
I published a walkthrough last year, but the host site went dead. I'm replaying the game again now, and figuerd as good as time as any to update the walkthrough!


The walkthrough is now published is now on gamefaqs.com and www.supercheat.com. I've added new content. I'm going through the game again and found a few new quests (minor ones), new XP bonuses, and finally adding the item combining section! :) So new updates coming. I have about 5 new pages of content I just need to clean up the conversion txt, insert new content, and do another word edit pass.

I figure I'll have a final version of the walkthrough updates to those sites by end of next week if all goes well!

If you have suggestions of things I've missed let me know.

There was a bloody mod out there, but I can no longer find a active link for it, and i no longer have the seperate file to post.

If anyone has info on some fun mods for this please past me a link. This point I'll make a point to get them posted onto fileplanet or somewhere a little more perm!
