"What is your hardware"-survey

Yes, Paladin Solo (and anyone else who might potentially miss the point of this thread, all that text in the first post might be important), you seemed to have missed the point. This thread does not exist so we can each see who has the best hardware. Rather it is observe the relevant information (that which is given on the template) from people who would use FIFE.

Of course, such degeneration of purpose in nearly inevitable with certain individuals.

Self built this PoS. I'm running with

1.67 Ghz AMD Athlon processor. (God bless)
64 mb GeForce 4 MX 440 AGP8x video card
512mb of RAM.

The Mobo is nothing brag worthy but it gets the job done.

I keep telling myself I am going to upgrade. But then I never do.

And what OS? I'm kind of amazed that nearly everyone on NMA is on Windows. The majority of the team is on Linux, ATM I'm the only one that just runs Windows.

And I try to find an easy way to detect if your card / driver supports OpenGL 1.3 as it will be needed for FIFE. But ATM I favour an alpha test in 2-3 months to see how the prototype works for a bigger group of users.

It's not that odd. Most NMA members are gamers and casual computer users, so they aren't exactly target audience for an OS that is still often viewed as robust and difficult to use.

I'm running XP Pro. Unfortunately.

Whenever I get around to gutting and upgrading I'm going to switch over to Linux.

I woud like to do things to Windows that are unmentionable to ears of mortal men, and beyond mortal ken.

Because Boris is a Russian name that implies drunkenness (Boris Yeltsin anyone?). and since he has another PC called Beer I would guess he has a thing for alcoholism and alcoholic beverages.
