What is your regular squad?

welsh

Junkmaster
To start I try to go with
Myself- CQB/sniper
Mandy- sniper/medic
Rage- Sniper/thief
Ice- sniper thief

ANd I switch in and out Brian, Jax, Trevor and Target.

I am at St. Lous and am thinking about trying it with a deathclaw squad at night.

Usually I play with a squad like this:
Yours truly - Unarmed sneaking thrower
2nd - Sniping lockpicker
3rd - Sniping medical loverboy
4th - Mr. Fixit HWP (Heavy Weps Specialist)
5th - Sneaky guy with energy
6th - HWP/Energy with traps/driving

Usually this:

Myself: Sniping/sneaky
2nd: Medic/Energy
3rd: Big gunner/Energy
4th: Sneaky/thrower/unarmed
5th: Big gunner/Energy
6th: Sniper/Energy

My own character: stealth/CQ/sniper/throwing (which is perfectly doable)
Farsight: stealth/sniper
Stitch: medic
Rage: stealth/CQ/sniper
Rebecca: sniper/science/lockpick
(Trevor: throwing)

I don't always use Trevor, since his gun skills are a bit meagre, but he's a damn good thrower, that's for sure.

I usually give all of them the Tag! perk (tagging Energy weapons) when I start meeting Reavers.

Also: I usually play with a female character myself, because they have small advantages on the battle field (on some maps, anyway).

The team with witch I beat the game :

Avreana - Human(duh) "commando" - tag skills S.G. , B.G. , E.W. fav.weapon - flamethrower,gauss minigun
Farsight - Human sniper/driver
Stitch - Human field Medic with a pancor jackhammer
Babs - Charming ghoul thief(oops dropped my hand)
Stoma(was his name I think) - Brainless mule with a big gun
Chuck - Ugly mutant with big hands and a bigger gun

BTW, Daron, do you happen to like System of a Down? Just wondering if that text is from one of their songs, but I don't recognize it.

Yes I do.And the text is from the song Know.

What should I write so it wouldnt be spam?Well I started the game again and In my squad I now have 3 members - the first 3 that I wrote - Avreana,Farsight and Stitch. And Im in Quincy.Man that deathclaw with 320 Hit Points almost killed Stitch.

Main PC: Sniper
2nd CNPC: Sniper
3rd CNPC: Sniper/Doctor
4th CNPC: Sniper
5th CNPC: Sniper
6th CNPC: Sniper/Big Guns

Weapons of choice in order of receiving them, the second weapon is a burst capable weapon for anyone who gets past the sniper screen.

Primary
Hunting Rifle
Sniper Rifle

How do you kill the robots with a hunting rifle and a sniper rifle?Isn't it difficult?

It's doable with the right perks, but it does get tiresome imo. I generally go for energy weapons and gauss rifles when my opponents are robots.

I dont waste any skill points in big guns, so I put them into energy weapons early on in the game, so by the time I get to the first robot missions I already have plenty of energy weapons.
Its only once I get to the robot missions that I stop using the sniper rifle (which is great for killing mutants)

Here is the squad i use 99% of the time,

Myself, Sniper/sneak/trapper
Farsight, Sniper
Stitch, Medic, close W shotgun
Rebecca, Sniper, lockpick
Robin, sneaky backstabber, sniper
Jo, Bug guns, repair, piloting.

Picking these allows me to concentrae my skills in my chosen tags, first and foremost.

Cheers Thorgrimm

Interesting pics--

I like Trevor, but usually favor Target. Though I think Trevor has fast shot.

I also like Ice better than Farsight, because of the Finesse.

I like Mandy better than Stitch- better scores and a better shooter- plus you can raise her doctor scores up.

I also like Rage better Rebecca- though I am not sure why.

Love Brian, fast shot and he uses both heavy weapons and small arms.

Jax is pretty good but I am not sure if that Kamikazi trait works for or against him.

I usually make all the characters sneaker types. Played Stein at St.Louis and thought he was a waste of time.

Anyone play all Deathclaw squad or all Ghoul squad?

Trevor doesn't always have the Fast Shot trait, mind you. And sometimes Ice lacks her Finesse trait as well. And so on.
What a lot of players don't know is that the overall quality/quantity and usefulness of the recruits depends on your charisma. Your CH changes their stats/tagged skills/traits/perks.

For instance: sometimes Trevor will have a tagged Sneak skill, but sometimes (depending on your CH, but I don't know exactly how it works) he will have Melee Weapons tagged.

I keep both of them around. Rage has the very useful Awareness perk and Rebecca has the Lockpick skill which is equally useful. Their stats are almost similar as well. Rage, of course, also has his Sneak skill tagged, which is great stuff for a stealthy squad.

Same here. It just makes for a better gaming experience, imo. Sneak skill + Silent Running perk (+ Tunnel Rat) + a big freakin' shotgun = r0x0rs!

No, not yet, and playing a full Deathclaw squad might be very hard to do. I've experimented with Krldraav who usually has the Throwing skill tagged (and who also has the Rabid trait, which sucks, but you can use Mutate! to change that into Gifted). It's so much fun equipping a Deathclaw with Boom Bugs and watch him soften his opponents with those before ripping them into pieces. Mother has great stats, but you need to get rid of that Domesticated trait, because it sucks.

I had not noticed the change in stats and perks, as you pointed out. I think my characters have generally had the same skills.

In fact Alec, I am not sure if this is correct.

Check out Guiller's guide-

But I agree, sneak is a must. I think that's the one trait I constantly invest in. A good character with strong small arms/ sneak/ shotgun can fight a mutant in St Louis and get away with it.

Heres two new builds of mine...Enjoy!

Sniper
Tags-Small Guns/Energy Weapons/Sneak
Traits-Gifted/Bloody Mess

Stats
ST 7
PE 10
EN 6
CH 2
IN 6
AG 10
LK 6

Strategy:Get to a high place and rain down death from above.
Note: This character is built so that later on it can use a laser rifle (hence the high ST).

Heavy Gunner
Tags-Big Guns/Energy Weapons/Throwing
Traits-Gifted/Fast Shot

Stats
ST 8
PE 8
EN 7
CH 2
IN 6
AG 10
LK 6

Strategy:Slap on a suit of power armor and go in with guns blazing.
Note:I would suggest using the m60 until laser weapons are available because its not an ammo waster like the miniguns and it works fine vs super mutants and reavers.

I see that the Sniper and the Heavy Gunner have a Charisma score - 2.So I will ask - for what do you use Charisma in Fallout Tactics anyway?

Well to answer your question, in FOT charisma mainly affects your recruit pool i.e; how fast new recruits are available and what some of their stats are. In my builds i have low charisma because the two squad memebers you start with already have 5 charisma i believe, and stitch can easily be made into a medic/trader/energy wep expert if you use the proper perks.

All the stats displayed in my builds are modified by the gifted trait so the CH was originally 1 but is boosted to 2. Some people dont want to use gifted because it lowers their skills alot at the start and it can be intimidating at first, but its always for the better in the long run.

You might think it odd to have such a low charisma but in FOT all the conversations are scripted, anyway so there is no need to waste points into charisma, better to put them in PE and AG. I have also beaten the game on normal mode with only that sniper character and farsight through the entire game(it was hard to lug around items until i got the hummer).

Remember, this isnt Fo1&2 where charisma actually affected the game. This is FOT where you march around the map blowing everything that moves to pieces(or get ripped apart by a super mutie from a m2 burst).

If stat affects your recruit pool, than it really is fairly insignificant- Most of your best recruits come early in the game and by the time new ones come up you're usually pretty reluctant to give those you've been using.
