Just curious what is the lowest level you guys have finished FO1 & 2 at? What's the average level you finish the game at?

Typically, I finish FO1 somewhere between 16 and 20... it can be harder to reach high levels if I'm doing a roleplaying run, as there are certain quests I end up missing in the name of character integrity. I can't remember the lowest level I beat it at, but it was below 10, on a speed run. I used some dodgy interface tactics to avoid a lot of the fights, but there was no straight-up cheating involved.

One should probably note that, given the experience one gains from taking out the Master and the Vats, it is literally impossible to finish the game without being at least third or fourth level (probably higher; I don't feel like digging up the EXP figures tonight.)

2? With what they give you to work with, there's no reason not to finish the game at level 20, minimum. I never bothered doing a low-level run or a speed run on this one, and if memory serves my low to beat was level 14.

The first time I finished Fallout I was level 19. In later tries I remember once being level 21.

I have no idea for Fallout 2. Though I will say that Yamu completing it at level 14 is almost inconceivable.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

I honestly forget my lowest level... in either game.

In the first Fallout:
Did you know however that if you kill the Master and blow up the Vats before you get the Water-Chip from Necropolis the game ends and out never have to deal with the water problem? Neat eh? First time I tried this I got down to 2 days before the water ran out.

The level? Honestly, I don't remember finishing Fallout 1 below 18, ever. The first time I played it, I was kind of curious of how many claws will I have to kill for them to actually disappear, and I got a few xp. And then I learned that you can get Sniper at 18. And I've always played and killed the deathclaws until I got to it. Then went for the Master.

As for FO 2, it's usually around 30, actually. Hard not to get all those xp unless you're playing stupid or avoiding experience deliberately. In the Enclave there's a lot of experience to reap, I always end up killing everyone in there... oops, Cassidy, why the hell did you have to follow me and Vic here.

Fallout 1 : 13 - 14
Fallout 2 : 22 - 25

This is the average, I cannot remember the lowest level. I usually like to fool around, I never tried to finish it as quickly as possible.

Out of curiosity, anyone know what the lowest possible level you can finish the games with are? Almost tempted to try to find out...

Well, I remember once getting the waterchip at around level 2 or 3. I packed a lot into small arms and burst-fired-at-point-blank range through the watershed.

I did someting similar, only I put my skill into "Sneak"...
That is one of the things I love about this game: you can quite literaly play any type of character.

I did that last time I played. I accidentally bumbled into necropolis looking for the hub.

I was level two and I just kinda ran through. I'd bet you could probably beat the game on level one. *runs off to try*

I have in fact done it. After two failed attempts and two hours from 3 am to 4 am in the one that worked. I beat it at level one.

TECHNICALLY I was level six because the level advances on it's own. But I never added any skill points, nor did I lose more than 30 health points(I started with 38) Nor did I add any perks.

if you do a "fallout2-done-quick" you end up being some level 6-ish, iirc. did that once, the main quest experience breaks that "oblivion done with lvl 1" feeling.
