"Anytime a player can whip out his piece and blow off the head of an enemy has got to be described a gritty" - Chuck
No. Blade Runner has a dark gritty atmosphere, the Fallout series is gritty. Dark sci-fi commentary on human nature and corruption = gritty. Black clever humour within a finely crafted environment of horror or hardship = gritty. Niel Gaiman's Sandman series could be described as poetic and gritty. Straight shooters are as a rule a bit too mindless to be gritty. Fallout POS = Shitty.
"Currently, the game supports the ability to toggle on or off friendly fire - that is until you reach the most difficult level, where friendly fire always hurts. This level is extremely challenging." - Chuck
Rather than make the game harder with clever sneaky level design, or improved AI, we're just going to toggle the options for you to make things harder! How clever. Why? Either on or off guys, toggling it level to level to increse the difficulty is just plain lazy.
Reminds me of a game i used to play, overhead racer called Badlands (Amiga conversion), where to make the game harder there were no harder tracks, or sneaky routes, the other cars could just travel 3 times faster than yours. Still looks better than FO
OS to me though. If anyone else has any what the fiznuck chiznucks to add, i'd greatfully read them.
