What upsets me most in Fallout 2

Where'd That 6th Toe Come From?
Broken Hills, man. Why did they give it such a terrible freaking ending?

Broken Hills was actually one of my favorite settlements. I loved the idea of Humans, Ghouls, and Super Mutants all working codependently in a type of symbiosis (with the mutants doing the heavy labor, Ghouls refining the ore, and the humans supporting the other two along with trading). But they just ruined it by giving it such a horrible, awful ending!

They should retcon it. Have Broken Hills he resettled somehow. I love the idea of different species working together, and I’d like it back

Dayglow is a ghoul town in NCR.

Anyway, Broken Hills' entire existence relied on the fact that it could mine. If the mines run dry, then just like a lot of mining towns in the old west, they too dry up and people leave for greener pastures. It was never going to last nor should it.

It wasn't that terrible of an ending. Town existed to make money off Uranium, when it dried up everyone moved on with money in pocket

If it didn't die after the mine dried out, it would have been annexed by the NCR by New Vegas time. So it wouldn't exist anymore either...

Also, it’s not like they ever actually mined Uranium in the first place. They only ever stood outside of it. They’re fictional video games characters, just let them keep existing in the lore.

Nah, I think it was pretty realistic and kinda bittersweet. Very appropriate for the Old West themes of Fallout 2. The Mining Ghost Town is an old classic. Also, it prevents the endings from being all too happy.

I could totes see more towns like Broken Hills in the future, especially if more mutant types pop up.
