What's the most evil thing you can do in Fallout?

Shaodeus

Still Mildly Glowing
What's the most heinous, horrible, most wicked thing you've ever done in any of the Fallout series?

Other than take away the water chip of Necropolis without fixing the water purifier and let them suffer?
Let the Vault city enslave the whole Gecko for power.

Made Princess cry.

. . .

Ok fine I became a slaver (as in a proper slaver, not the zappy kind in 3) in Fallout 2. Might have also shot a kid at one point (probably one of the pickpockets in the Den). Doesn't sound like much in comparison to other actions but I normally play as a nice guy.

I played a run of Fallout 2 as a sort of raider type guy recently

Helped the Duntons rustle cattle in Klamath, Killed all the Pickpocket kids in The Den, sided with Slavers, Helped Modoc invade Ghost Farm so I could raid it, Helped Vault City take over Redding, after proudly becoming a Vault City Citizen, Helped the Salvatores take over Reno by killing all members of the other families(Even the Wright Children), Killed all the Squaters(I was paid to get rid of the Squat, and get the computer part, so I did both), Slaughtered the Vault 13 Deathclaws for standing in my way, ect.

Of Course, I was playing as practical evil, not stupid evil, so I didn't blow up the Gecko Power Plant and helped Broken Hills, and did do all sorts of good things so long as they paid well.

I also took the water chip and left the ghouls to die. I find it very memorable because I didn't arbitrarily make an evil choice, I really needed the chip and I really couldn't help them (far as I knew at the time.)

I killed every single last child I could find in Fallout 2.

Without getting childkiller... ;P

Apparently siccing my pet deathclaw on people, is perfectly legal.

Two different questions but there's one answer to them both.

One day I was bored, booted up an NV, and did this:

1) Kill every honcho in NV. Independence route. Then I got every companion killed. Then I killed every named character I could find, up to President Kimball.
2) Did the DLC in this order: OWB, HH, LR, DM. I did them in such a way to ruin everything lore-wise and game wise. I nuked the NCR and Legion. I killed Mobius and spared the think-tank. I turned the sorrows into a tribe of raiders and ruined New Zion. And then I went to the sierra madre, fucked everyone over but Elijah, and sicced The Cloud onto the Mojave.

Nonstandard game over, I know. Ruining Necropolis, culling the core region and waiting right until the vault is targeted and then join UNITY, turning the MwBoS into a fascist empire, setting back the advancement of the NCR in the northern core region and its internal ties or nuking the BoS and corrupting project purity - all things I've done, out of eventual boredom and replaying - I think Fallout NV's is the most evil route simply because of how much it destroys.

In 1 you just make a mega-state, a megastate of Mutants, sure, who might trample over the world eventually, but theres a civilization there. With the Master's resources and your intelligence there's no reason you can't form a underclass of subservient humans dolling out people to deal with the sterility problem until a fix is found. That could very well be an acceptable state of affairs in the end. In 2, the NCR will still exist no matter what you do, civilization goes on and the Enclave is destroyed. In Tactics, you make a state, even if its mean and evil, it works. In 3, you poison the region and maybe decapitate the Brotherhood, but again, civilization in some form goes on. Even if you flatten Canada or whatever with your space laser, or throw the Pitt into diseased malaise. In 4, you can't do much but just hand over the reigns of civilization to one group or the other.

But in NV? You can destroy 204 years of work. You can destroy two states and throw everything from San Fran to Denver, from Arroyo to Dayglow into nuclear fire and chaos. Millions of people - gone, fucked, and then you can throw gas onto the fire with The Cloud, you can sic the Sorrows onto the western Midwest, you can turn the eyes of the Think Tank onto the greater world, you can permanently ruin the Mojave forever with The Cloud. Oregon, California, Baja California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado are basically completely and utterly lost.

And all done on a whim of a (bored/jaded) courier who got shot in the head over a chip. That's pretty evil.

The most evil to do in the whole series? I don't know. My very, very first evil playthrough ever in the series was in Fallout 1.5: Resurrection. I'm not entirely sure of really fucked up stuff I've done in there, but off the top of my head: Killing children that was trapped in a pedophile's basement because one of the child rebelled, resulting in the the rest of the children getting agitated and ruined their 'flavor' to the pedophile, before getting told to throw away their mutilated bodies somewhere.

Also, one such quest that's so morally grey I just didn't bother doing it at all on my Good Karma playthrough: getting a woman's husband killed in a trial by combat because the woman's sister wanted her to work with her on a a whorehouse. The other option is to listen to the woman to get her sister off the whorehouse and to live with her, but that means the sister now also has to fulfill the husband's needs....

That is exactly my planned evil playthrough for New Vegas! Except, I would opt out of Honest Hearts by triggering Chaos in Zion quest, where any named quest-giver NPC is killed. That's much more fucked up because you're killing some of the important figure in Zion and that means leaving the Sorrows and the Dead Horse, and also the entire Zion, completely at the mercy of the White Legs. Letting those savages live is.... worse, IMO.

- Destroyed the unity. Can't look myself in the mirror afterward.
- Got the childkiller perk on the european version. (don't remember how. Probably killed some bald teens)
- Being nice to First Citizen Lynette.
- Ask for a sign of good faith from Modoc mayor.
- Get the disfigured ghoul to pay his debts in Freeside, and then some.
- The way used to get rid of Orville Wright.
- Catch it Lloyd !
- There is something i've forgotten in that well... Dunno what...

Optimalized the Gecko Power Plant.

And told in Modoc he needs to cut off his pinky to settle the contract. And made him do it.

I think I felt the worst after tricking that little girl out of Little Lamplight, to get her enslaved. Some parts of an evil playthrough are just hard for me. Not sure if that's the most evil thing to do though. As far as maximally cruel in terms of severity and scale, that would probably be helping the Legion win. Since that entails mass murder on a huge scale, lots of rape, slavery, and torture. Siding with Elijah or the Master would definitely be contenders as welll. Not sure which is the worst of the three, but most of the Master's victims just get shot or mutated to death. Whereas those who survive stop being bothered by, like, all of it. Elijah sounded fairly slanted towards quick mass murder, but a bomb collar society with him as Big Brother is pretty fucking terrifying. At least something like nuking Megaton is a quick death for anyone that doesn't magically ghoulify.

I don't get it...

That's...That's literally a highway to heaven.

She wasn't annoying or mean. She was basically just a kid. And not even jaded wasteland kid, but a bit more innocent. Sure, she knew about slavers and put bullets in mags before most of us did in RL, but there was something very relatable about her. On a personal level, throwing her to the slavers - to be worked around, whored around, wasted around - is a very evil thing, sure.

One time I had a kid suicide bomb his father.

Lol the slaves in fallout 3 are idle. Basically sending her to live on easy street.

Fuck.

EVERYONE.

In that god damned cave.

Every game, I murder them all.

No survivors.

In Fallout 2 I made it to point to wipe out all the people at all the main locations. I literally killed everything I saw just to see what would happen. Needless to say, it was rather boring and difficult just killing everyone in the wasteland.

Basically I role played as a completely insane character that thought being nice was to just give everyone a dirt nap.

Long story short, Arroyo made a bad choice in calling that character the "Chosen One", although I didn't attack anyone in Arroyo, mostly because I know they were screwed from the get go.

my third lp of fallout 2 when i roleplayed a character who decided " screw arroyo " and decided to pass the rest of my life in new reno in gambling , jet and sex ; in other to substain myselh i decided to become a slaver and sold mirya to begin

It depends. From an RP perspective, the way I see it the only way one can logically go on a killing spree in FO1 and 2 is if one is hooked up on a shit ton of Jet + Psycho + Buffout and possibly trace amounts of FEV, jut enough to still be retaining "humanity." < The words itself is hard to define.
Given that the goals of The Vault Dweller and Chosen One are ultimately good or at least self-preserving I think it's impossible to be truly evil in these games unless of course you go the VAT dipping route.

The most evil thing I've ever encountered wasn't from any of the Main Fallouts but from Fallout Resurrection.
If you haven't played Resurrection (highly unlikely) well go play it now!

SPOILER ALERT.

-Surrendering Six-Toed little girl to mutant hunters then going back to kill her mother
-Harvesting tribals for organ donors.
-Killing a couple of Ghouls who've been outcast by their community
-Killing a couple of boys who were previously raped by a pedophile shopkeeper and disposing the bodies by giving them to a guy selling "Strange Meat"
-Gabriel's Story

Yeah. I normally play a Goody Two-Shoes character no matter which game I play and was disgusted with the choices you could take.
Since I consider myself Chaotic Good though, I take advantage of the choices this game allows and recruit Gabriel then use him as an organ donor to strengthen my character then proceeding to destroy the human traffickers.

@MPPlantOfficial nice to see another fellow playing evil playthrough on F1.5:Resurrection. I guess the fact that the main goal for the main character is regaining their memories, so it's not ultimate good or self-preserving like VD and CO in F1&2 respectively.
Holy fuck, you can just give away those poor boys mutilated flesh to that guy in Dead Quarter?

Yeah. Which is why I'm hoping for a more 'blank slate' type character in a Fallout game someday.
New Vegas does a pretty good job at that (except The Courier was kinda stupid. Excusable by RP'ing she "lost most of her memories" after getting shot)
Technically the guy was living on human flash on a daily basis anyway.
I mean sure FO1 & 2 allowed for evil playthroughs but they are canonically good or at least neutral characters.
Also I did not play through the whole game as evil. Only did took the evil choices every now and then just to see what happens. The game does a great job with the very good Karma character reacting you your choices and leaving you.
It was actually very hard recruiting Gabriel. I had to be a jerk (asking for payment or brushing people off) then taking the "evil" route in the Rat Hole but I did not want to cross that line of taking the disgustingly evil choices (the rapist, mutant hunters, human trafficking)
From an RP perspective, both gangs are equally self-centered anyway.
