I agree, I cant stand the stupid looking red and green colored armor! Hopfuly you wont be able to accidently attack your own NPC's in the heat of battle! And it shouldent be so hard to tell one NPC from another in game play, or else they are going to have to come up with some more original NPC Character art!

I guess they're concentrating on making it easier to see by the human player rather than making the game realistic. Nobody in their right mind would wear shiny bright armor in combat, it's like putting up a sign: "Shoot me, I look stupid."

Gotta love that realism.

Maybe they're supposed to blind people with shiny armors. Like using your watch to blind a tennis player.

Ok, that made no sense.

But I never had any problems shooting the right NPC's. And that had nothing to do with my gun skills. Just right-click on someone, and get a description.

Or maybe the colors are some psychological warfare.
Scared guy in blue power armor: "Oh no! It's guys in red power armor."
Ok, maybe it's not so scary; but you might underestimate them because they're wearing red power armor:
Idiot in blue power armor: "Look at those idiots in red power armor!"
<Whatever noise the plasma rifle makes.>
<Idiot in blue power armor gets shot in the eyes.>
Idiot in blue power armor: "Oh my eyes! Medic!"

Skie
That's not as funny now that I re-read it...

The red and green armor is a PLOT!!!! *runs around screaming in his padded cell....* Interplay along with MicroForte wants us all DEAD!!!!

*watches the men in white coats come to his room and inject him with ......falls to a dead sleep...THUD!*

the only thing im saying is it looks like shit.i am curious maybe if in fuckin combat they would outline your so your char would turn red or green.but with the way they got it u run around like them damb gangs whereing red,ext...to me it looks like its the crypts and the bloods fighting.hell anyone who would see us in such bright fucking armor would say something like shoot the big red dot, kill the little fudge packing keebler workers, and ext...hey that would make some cool battle lines!but back to the point it looks SHITTY!thanx post ya ideas.

Well, you have to consider that maybe the armor colors are just there not for looks right now but to simulate what the finished product might look like. The gaming industry (from my knowledge) uses whats known as "placeholders" when they are testing their games for bugs, crashes, etc. Since they are probably running the game through its code and whatnot they didnt really want to finish the armor designs just yet ....hence the ugly, not coordinating with the rest of the back ground (look at the screenshots and you'll see what I mean ...bright RED against a dullish BROWN????? ), piss ass armor....

I hope this makes some sense ....

*Goes back to torturing Bob the space monkey.....*

As written on the Fallot Tactics main message- board it is screenshots from a multiplayer game.

More like, "Shoot me with your puny 10mm SMG, you can't hurt me".

Most weapons in Fallout and Fallout 2 don't have much of an effect on Power Armor, why not make it day-glow green? :)

If it wasn't for the noise of the bullets bouncing off the Power Armor, I think you could probably sleep through an attack by a horde of Super Mutants with Miniguns. ;)

No, because one of them would get a critical and do 367hp of damage.

Skie

I've never had a critical from a 10mm SMG that did any damage to me in Fallout or Fallout 2.

Guass rifle or pistol, sure.. But no straight slug shooter.

I dunno, I've had quite a few times when a burst weapon has ripped me in half. Yet, most of the fight I've been recieving no damage from it.

Skie
Critical bursts at point blank are killer.

I agree with skie. I was killed wearing a mark 2 power armor by a 10mm SMG and i had 109 hit points.

That's odd.. It's never happened to me.

I wonder if it's because I devote a lot of points to my Luck attribute. I generally put three of my starting points in to Luck, the other two get distributed based on what I want the character to be like.
