What's your thoughts on the Master?

Even though he probably is a "Hitler-like" if he indeed turned the world into Super Mutants there would be no more of the never ending fighting you see in the Wasteland(and also no prejudice since everyone is the same sterile green mass of muscle)

Also, he intends to allow those who don't want to be turned into mutants live out their final days in peace.

Mass sterialization and clean prison camps actually make it worse as it's horrifying evil disguised in self-aggrandizing benevolence.

Generally, my view of Richard Grey is he's the self-appointed solution to a probem which no one asked him to fix. He wished to create a end to war and conflict but to do so did a war which is probably the worst since the Great War and since in the Fallout universe. His views always had a self-justification or an excuse or a way to rationalize them but that doesn't mean any of them were right.

His "peace" was enforced with psychic powers in the minds of all Super Mutants and was unnaturally enforced. It also meant the end of human culture and the possibility of change, which is the hallmark of evolution. It also requires him to enforce that peace for eternity as Big Brother, in the minds of his followers for eternity.

I don't think he's a Hitler figure at all. Instead, I see him as the worst embodiment of, of all things, communist utopianism.

"evil disguised in self-aggrandizing benevolence" there is no such thing as good and evil when it comes to things in the scale of States and the World, you need to do hard things to achieve good things(the ends justify the means, while it might not be true in small scale day to day lives on large scale if you want to achieve something you have to do sacrifices, a saying that comes from the same man who said 'the choice is usually not between good and evil, but between evil and the lesser evil")

Remembering Super Mutants don't die by age so they don't really need to reproduce if there's nothing to kill them(in other words, achieved masters goal of a world where everyone is literally equal, unlike communist way where everyone is different but stand as equals)

He's the solution for the problem of human suffering which is the tendency to hate or kill each other

Communism only used violence as a mean of self-defence(do you really think America wouldn't crush it like it planed to do to with Japan before Pearl Harbor or like Churchil wanted to do right after WWII?) while Hitler used it to expand it's reach plain and simple

Evil is a value judgement and thus an entirely valid one. Same as good. Those who don't believe they exist have effectively divorced themselves from making choices.

The Master certainly considers it a monumental failure worth exterminating not only himself but the majority of his army. With no way to produce new humans, it is a evolutionary dead end which will only get smaller even if only by accidentas.

He's the solution for the problem of human suffering which is the tendency to hate or kill each other

Which seems an acceptable trade off for both freedom and conflict resolution. Certainly, the world is rebuilding in Fallout 1 which he threatens the entirety of.

Communism is in no way shape or form a single coherent ideology anymore than Christianity, Islam, or capitalism. The conflict between its own members, parties, and allied nations puts lie to that.

He had a sympathetic background, had good intentions, but had a big flaw in his plan. Without the fertility issue, case could be made for or against his plan. Plus, he has a fascinating aura.

Making villains is not easy, but the Master is the Fallout antagonist. THE ONE. He is not like Richardson, or the Enclave in F3, or Caesar. He wanted the human race to survive. And the only way for that was transforming them into supermutants. He is the best, and the Vault Dweller is also the best Fallout hero.

He wanted the human race to survive.
No he didnt. He considered them inferior. In fact. He wanted everyone turned into super mutants (a distinctly and obviously different race) the one's who refused would be sterilized and/or destroyed. That's called genocide aka the opposite of wanting a race to prosper.

My mistake. He considered the Supermutants were the most able creature to survive in the wasteland. So, even his actions were despicable, its intentions were good. It's not a genocide to create new species, its what we, the humans, do every day, also destroying them. He is not like Caesar, who wants to conquer the west, NCR territory (or Vegas), he wanted a better wasteland (despite the fact that he wouldn't accomplish his intentions).

He don't consider humans inferiors. Inferiors to what ? He is an human, super-mutants are humans, ghouls are humans, normies are humans. The whole thing is about humanity and its need to evolve for the new world and avoid repeating the mistakes of the past, which seems to be avoidable at the time if we all evolve into super-mutants. It is the wish to save humanity from itself that motivated the Master, just like it motivated the brotherhood of Steel. If he didn't care about humanity, he would just have to wait or to trigger weapons of mass destruction.

Not saying he is right, but his plan makes a fucking sense from an idealist standpoint. He genually think he is solving all humanity problems for the centuries to come, which from an idealist standpoint, would be entirelly worth sacrifying an entire generation. (if you aren't idealist, you will assume that the world will always find a way to screw itself again and will see solving all problem at once as just an illusion)

Hubristic, self-adulating lump of vomit that was deceived by members of his own cult into believing that Super Mutants were in fact not sterile. Revealing that fact to him was hilarious.

To be honest, that's pretty sad. We could have ended... oh wait, there are dumb mutants and smart mutants. There goes equality I guess.
