Where do YOU see the fanbase in 10 years?

First time out of the vault
Well, Fallout is 10 years old now.
We're still playing/discussing/lovin this game and for many people 'NMA' becamed something like the daily morning newspaper.
I'm here for about 5 years (registered just a few days ago, but allways read news/forum) and some are active for 7 years or more.
Looks like we wont get tired of Fallout.

But what about in 10 years?
Will we be like the M.U.L.E. fanbase? In our forties or fifties, trying to force our children to play these awful looking old games?
Will we still post and discuss on the internet or whatever follows the internet?

I really hope that the fanbase is going to survive the next 10 years. Maybe even under NMA.
And im kinda confident that there will be an Van Buren Remake by the fans. But not before 2012. It will take hell of a lot time and many many restarts, but somehow I just know that this is going to happen.
I'm also wondering how many postapo-MMORPGs will have made it into the stores until 2017. And if one of them actually turns out to be a good one.

So where do you see the fanbase/NMA in 10 years?
Do you think you'll still be a fallout fanboy then?
And are your kids going to be compelled to play FO and FO2 over and over again?

(And here's the obligatory excuse for horrible English skills: Sorry, my English isn't good)

So where do you see the fanbase/NMA in 10 years?
What we have here is more than a fan base, it's a community, and I think that it will endure no matter how many crappy FO sequels Bethsenda or any other developer might release. I've been lurking around here for over seven years, enjoyed the good fan art and the role plays and read a lot of interesting discussions on the various forums. Considering all that I think it's safe to say that the people here are bonded by much more than just Fallout, although that is the pillar of the community, and I think that after all this time they have built up enough pillars to hold this construction together even if the main one should crumble. But I know it will not do so because the game has substance, the graphics are just the shell that was available at the time and it could be perfected if needs be.

Do you think you'll still be a fallout fanboy than?

I'm certain my appreciation and love for Fallout will not die out that soon. It has earned it's place in the hall of great cRPGs and nothing can take that away form it as far as I am concerned.

And are your kids going to be compelled to play FO and FO2 over and over again?

I don't plan on forcing my kids to do anything but I will probably show them the game and try to teach them that nice and shiny doesn't mean good just as old and ragged doesn't mean bad or outdated for that matter. If I am going to be able to teach them that I'll rest assured that they have learnt a valuable lesson in life.

And ,teewurm, don't take this the wrong way but it's "since 2002", "for 5 years", "will have made it " (really made it into the stores ), "get tired of" (tired from Fallout), "hell of a lot" ( hell of a time ) and "a fallout fanboy then" (fallout fanboy than). Try to perfect your English or you might find people that will snap back at you in a bad way for not talking correctly. Take Jarno as an example

Thanks for the corrections.
As I said above, my English skills aren't great.
And I have no problem with getting corrected by others. That's a good way to learn, so I don't complain. :)

We will have been replaced by new generations of fans. A new generation of glittering gems upset over the fact that fallout 6: the hood sisters with heels wasn't as immersive as the previously released fallout tactics: tactics.

wha..wha..wha... never!

I dunno, probably forging a brand new nation on the shores of what was previously known as New Zanzibar...

Falloutica...

Wastelandia...

Ugh, this is harder than I thought.

I'm pretty sceptical about any big mod for Fallout, especially something like VB. It's very hard to keep people on a big project without the perspective of future profit.

I don't think there are any fanboys here.
