Which screen video capture method do you use?

Hello all,

I'm playing & bug-hunting in Fallout 2 RP 2.12b and want to record some screen videos (audio+video) of some actions / sequences I'm testing out.

I'd like your recommendations on a freeware screen video capture utility that will work in Windows XP. Plus even if you don't use a freeware application, I'm curious to know what you do use to capture screen videos. My site search found very few recommendations:

- Run the game in DosBox and use its video capture
- ... (That's all I found. I.e., Memetics' search ability must suck! Please point me to the right thread if this is a rehash.)

The only two freeware screen capture software that I know are
Camstudio :

And taksi :
http://taksi.sourceforge.net/

But I haven't tested them with Fallout.

You can also try the unregistered version of BSR Screen Recorder, it gives good results :

I'm using Fraps, but it's not really satisfying. Camstasia Studio 6 has some fair recording and editing features during its test period, if you need.

Yeah; we use Camtasia at work. Good stuff, but I can't afford it - I'd probably use it once a month, if that, until I have some time off and can do some intensive work. Really would prefer freeware instead of trialware for that reason. ...
