I'm still amazed by the depth of this game. Haven't seen it in any other game since.
I agree, I wish I could stop playing the same character archetype or w/e every time I start new. I want to be evil but I can't.

I think that fallout two is one of those timeless games, that one never really completes, no two games are exactly the same, and with the modding community working at the force that it is currently, we should have little to no problem extending the life of this magnificent game to end of forever..

Items like that piss me off, because I never have the heart to throw them out, thinking somehow somewhere I might be able to use them, if only I keep them in my inventory. Of course, that never happens :P

There is a moment in Icewind Dale 2 that preys on this very real gamer instinct. Needless to say, I almost shit myself laughing when the mystery was revealed. PRICELESS!!!!

[spoiler:4a40896eae]You find a dead cat, and carry it around, later some guy smells it, thinks your crazy, you tell him you thought it would be usefull, and he chews you out about how this isnt some game where you pick up every odd thing thinking someone out there will need you to get it. the dialogue is hilarious, but the exact details escape me, and a google search makes no mention of it. hmm.[/spoiler:4a40896eae]

Same here. I just dump off stuff like that on a handy bookshelf: usually the closest one to the town entrance. Then if I ever need the stuff (like my 27 rocks, or 91 plant spikes, or the valut flasks), I'll know where to look.
