Will New Vegas DLC go on sale???

anticlockclock

First time out of the vault
Now that the GOTY edition is coming out can we expect the DLC to go on sale on PSN? I've been saving funds for it... If it doesn't go on sale which one is the best DLC for the game?

I never interacted with the PSN so I can't say about any sales or whatnot, but if you only had enough money for one I'd go with Old World Blues. I'd totes recommend getting all the others too for completeness's sake but if you can only chose one I'd chose OWB first, Dead Money second, Lonesome Road third, and Honest Hearts fourth. They're all great, but OWB is almost like a separate game itself. The first hour or so is pretty weak but when I did a 100% playthrough on PC, OWB took about 20 hours. It's very deserving of the praise it received.

I'll second that. OWB seems to be everybody's favorite. Dead Money has an interesting story, environment, and great characters, but OWB has a bigger worldspace, giving you more to explore. Also, the characters in OWB are a lot more entertaining to interact with. I thought Honest Hearts looked nice, but the story was a bore.

OWB probably has the best benefits, what with implants, permanent stat boosts, good perks and good weapons

I agree. I loved Honest Hearts environment, but the story was a letdown. OWB made me explore every last nook and cranny of the Big MT. I loved how they explained the Cazadores too. I hope the next Fallout gets similar treatment as far as the DLC is concerned.

Do expect to pretty much be done with the game by the time you get to the dlc though. It literally showers you with exp and bonus perks. I made the mistake of starting owb at level 16 and came out level 44, didn't have much incentive to play the game much more after that.

You're saying you gained 28 levels in OWB? That's... interesting. I go in around level 20, do everything there is to do and I don't gain 28 levels.

OWB gives exp meant for 25+ level players, so going in there with a Low Level means you gain more from all that EXP.

I meant from the dlcs in general, worded that a bit weirdly. That was just from OWB and Lonesome Road too, I later made it to level 50 in dead money and didn't even bother with honest hearts before starting a new game. Though I think I had taken that perk that increases exp earned by 10% so I'm sure it's not as ridiculous. Still, owb likes to reward you handsomely for stupid things. I made several levels before even leaving the think tank by passing speech check after speech check after speech check.

EDIT: and what walp said

Yeah I went in at 30 and the Xp wasn't too bad. I never went in at a low level because you will level way too quick.

I saved the DLC's until later and started OWB at about 46th level. I still gained 10 levels. That's because until you finish the main quest in OWB, the respawn rate of the enemies outside The Sink/Think Tank is insane. The more you kill, the more XP you get. There's a helluva lot to explore, but it ain't no walk in the park.

I remember you mentioning going there at a late level being a little rough. I might have to try that. I always play on Very Hard, so it may give me a much needed challenge.

I'm never there long enough for any much, if any respawning. I just go in and, minus a few trips back to the sink to sell some items and heal, I just work in a circle and clear it out. I'd be surprised if I'm in the Big MT for more than 36 hours game world time.

I don't know if it will. If you are only getting one or two I would say get OWB and Dead Money. You would probably be better off seeing if you can find a cheap copy of the ultimate edition second hand sometime.

I'd recommend just Buying the GOTY edition. It's what i'm doing, since you also get Gun Runner's Arsenal and Courier's Stash. Trade in some Old/Bad games along with your old New Vegas, bam.

You seem to already have the PS3 version. For that price you probably didn't get the Ultimate Edition. Is your $6 copy the PC version? If so, You can get the DLC's from Steam. If you watch and wait, they have occasional sales on them; usually 50% off, sometimes better.

You get Robo-Scorpions spawned on you every time you complete an objective. This happens like every 30 seconds. Not to mention lobotomites, night stalkers and about 20 boss level enemies just hanging out.

Yeah I know they respawned a lot, but it wasn't challenging enough. My guy was pretty godlike by the time I played OWB. I may play through again differently.
