Won't someone please think of the children (I.e.) ...

It Wandered In From the Wastes
Will there be children in the game?

So lets start off positive and say there will be children in the game, well thats good but if there are dose that mean we wont be able to start combat where ever we want? thats not so good, now if we can what will stop us from killing them? And what about the hookers? Will they be in the game because if there are and you can kill them this game will become the new hooker murder simulator, I really dont think Beth wants that? Hell NO, do you really think you be able to walk up to a random person in the game, pull out your SMG and cut him in to, and watch as his upper half tries to flee? No, do you think you'll be able to got up to someone buy a duos of jet and shoot up right there on the spot, nope.

Now most likely they will polically correct up the game so that means no more rasesiem (Witch is wrong but...) the people of the wasteland have a reason to be, towards the Chinese ( if you a fan you'd no why) and to tribles, ghouls and mutants, but will any of it be in there? nope everyone will be all buddy buddy.
I usually play the good guy, The Hero of the Wasteland but just knowing that if I wanted to go on a killing spree and kill every man woman and children gives the game a sense of realism no other game has had.

So I'm looking at this in my mind and it just anit stacking up, this game has a very high chance of sucking just because Of the little things, they'll all add up and and will just suck the life out of it, ... god my hopes arn't high, but mayby just maybe...

If beth do put children in I am sure you will not be able to kill them, or I could see this as another "Hot Coffee" type of problem I don't think beth would risk it.

Huh? I thought blowing a kids head off is ok and boobies were the real menace? I must be getting confused again

No it wouldn't.
Being able to kill children would lead to an M rating. Which is something they're already aiming for since one thing they have claimed is that this will be one of the most violent games ever.

Sigh...
What the fuck do you think Bethesda is trying to make? A Barbie Horse Adventures game?
In Morrowind there was a lot of rasism - Khajiit and Argonian were enslaved and discriminated, you were able to kill anyone, even innocent people without weapons, there were drugs which several people were addicted to, and it was rated T.
Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood was also very violent, and it also had nudity, so ESRB rerated the game to M.
So what's your point? This is the kind of idiotic pessimism that isn't helping at all.

Yeah but things have changed alot more now since fallout 2, grahpics are much better and show much more detail, Gaming is at it's highest a lot more people have there eyes on gaming.

Im sure somone is not going to like seeing children blown apart at close range with an SMG.

Yes, and there were people who didn't like Postal's brutality either.
So? That didn't stop anyone from making it. The most that can happen is that the game gets an M rating due to violence. That's it. Sex makes it get an AO rating.

I’m just looking at past events such as the hot coffee mod for GTA and the Sims 2 mod that was being talked about, so mush has changed in the last 9 years about what is acceptable in games today.

And the fact that it will be on the 360 is making it even worst (even tho if it wasn’t id wouldn’t be able to play it without doing some bigtime upgradeing...) if fallout 3 was PC only they could get away with a hell of a lot more stuff then they could if it was on a consol, PC only games tend to be over looked because there not as mainstream, the average pc gamer is in there mid 20's, average consol gamer early teens.

So Lets say that bethsoft goes the distances and makes a great game, better than any fallout game before it and filled with everything that it should, well that means that the game will be rated AO, and that right there a nocks off huge amount of the consumer market (average consol gamer) Bethsoft bought this game to make money and there going to try to hit as many gamer age groups as they can with this game, knowing this mean bethsoft will dumb down this game as much as they can, it's inevitable.

Yes then we wake to relise that it was just a dream and we are living a nightmare.

Why would Fallout 3 be rated AO? It would need to contain *explicit* sex scenes to get that rating. But Fallout games never featured explicit sex, nor should they. We're talking a post-apocalyptic RPG here, not a clone of Lula the Virtual Babe. A Fallout game ought to contain extreme violence and possibly nudity, and games like that get M rating. Which is, coincidentially, the rating Bethesda aim for with Fallout 3 *. Go figure.

*Of course, there is always a possibility they were full of shit on this issue, same as they were dishonest on many others. I doubt it, though.

The only way to rate Fallout 3 an AO rating is when Hillary Clinton is the president of the USA and force ESRB to change their rating.

*Blood and gore? Adults Only!*
*Boobs and child? Adults Only!*

I think Betheshit is using Fallout 3 to regain an M rating since Call of Cthulthu: Dark Corner of the Earth to avoid getting attack from hardcore Fallout Fans. Think about it, if Fallout 3 failed as what the public expected (an M rated PC game), it will be another 'Daikatana'-like disaster.

It wouldn't really fail, because the TES fans would still buy it, as would all the console trash-players.

Or the rating Oblivion got, for that matter.
Bethesda have said many times that they don't care about the rating. Of course, they wouldn't really like AO, but it's unlikely they would have got that anyway unless they had hidden some hard-core Khajiit Porn on the Oblivion DVD.

Ok if someone made a re-make of fallout 1/2 with todays tech what do you guys think it will be rated, I mean melting the skin off someone with a very large engery gun is bonud to get the rating up, and the first time some mom walks in on there son doing that we'll have same problem as GTA.

Ok and i'm not saying that fallout is only about killing drugs and sex, it's those and a lot more that add up to make the game what it is.

Oh no one ever tried to awser my question, do you think there will be children in the game?

I think there may be, but if there is, I also think they will be unkillable, or something to that manner, but hey, this is just speculation. Lets wait and see, eh?

I don't think they can do that with game ready 3D models (well not so it looks good).

I don't know for sure (so please correct me if I'm wrong) but they had a guy working in clay on Fallout. I'm sure he was the one making the people melt and being blown apart in messy ways. It would have been very difficult to do that in a 3D modelling program., especially in those days.

Its just another example (for me) of why pre-rendered games can look better than 3D.

of course you can make 3D models melt... it's not easy & it'll take a good deal of real time calculation probably, but it's perfectly possible with current technology. it does require the dev to go the extra mile though...

What about the guts spilling out, the rib cage opening up and the chunks of flesh flying off until the body reduces to nothing (all the while the body is animating wildly)? ;)

All of the creature models I've seen just have the skin on the outside (there are no innards). Thats what made me suspect they used clay, because its a hell of a lot easier to do. Then again I'm probably wrong, because I'm just guessing. :)
