Wooden Wall appearing in inventory!!

Automattic

First time out of the vault
I was recently playing fallout 2 when I noticed that there was a wooden wall in my inventory . It said it weighed a negative trillion pounds  or some outrageously large number.

Then I moved to a different part on the map and it said it weighed a couple trillion pounds  and it changes all the time :? !

I decided to check what would happen if I dropped one of the walls. A wooden wall got dropped right in front of me :o, and it stayed there even after leaving and returning to the map :P.

I'm curious on how this could of happened? :?:

Are you sure it was a wall and not part of a container?

I know in Fallout 1 you could sometimes pick up a part of a bookshelf. Since containers are also items, sometimes it's possible to pick them up.

you shouldn't be able to pick up that bookshelf-part, because you would have to use falche to get high enough strength.
The pick-up-bookshelf-issue is quite easily explained and I'm pretty sure it's not the cause;

see when walls are placed out behind those bookshelves they go over it, for some wierd reason, and the quarterpart of the shelf is then placed on top of the wall again. I don't know why it happens, and apparently it's hard to fix, since they didn't fix it :P

As for the original question, I have no idea, never even herd of it before :P

I think it's an extremely rare freak bug. I picked up one of these bundles of stuff found on tables once, and it looked like a Geiger Counter in my inventory.

yes, you should do that, the item you speak off, this wall, is really rare in bth F1 and2 ;)

and thus, worth a lot of caps or coins

sorry the long reply I haven't been able to get on. :(

:(
Its an actually wood wall from a building :P. I haven't tried to sell it yet

How do I post a screen shot on the form?

This is the first time I have posted on a form site

and then try to sell it, or plant it on someone, and start beating them, they shouldnt be able to move due to the weight, yes?

You mean like the player then wouldn't have been able to walk up to them carrying the wall in the first place?

I suddenly have an overwhelming urge to steal all things wooden and sell them to Patrick the wandering Celt.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

I just noticed that I forgot to save the game before I droped all of the wooden walls :wall:

I was going to play with them some more :(

I'm glad I at least got a few screen shots :x

I'm going to try to post these shots

At first I was annoyed by the wall always weighing me down. I wasn't thinking

I could of put them in a locker

I could Still walk with the wall in my inventory but when the weight would randomly increase I would just be overweighted. On a good note, when it was a nagative billion pounds I could carry all the stuff I wanted :D

Mybe i'll try to pick them back up again :?:

ues of course, I mean they would move very slowly, not being able to get away

And I can't really remember seeing those dice and the cookie before... then again, it's been a while since I last played...

You should try trapping someone with them walls, just put them all around him/her/it...

Would be funny if you could use them as a throwing weapon...

What, like Setzer? They were supposed to be used in gambling and give skill modifiers, if I remember correctly. They were also multiple varities, including "loaded die" that you could use to cheat at the craps tables.

Oh, you mean like the boxing gloves with the metal plates or something in 'em? Wish they had more of those cheat things in the game... all they have now is the gloves, and the false citizenship papers... right?
