Worst gaming experience?

It's a "Spaceball". Yes, there is a product called a Spaceball.

Oh hey, I remember that thing! Spaceball 360. I remember wanting one bad for stuff like Descent (and simply for the gadget factor). Didn't work with very many things to begin with from what I can remember.

Paid retail for that piece of shite.

Silly person. That's what CGW demodiscs are for.

The AI was a serious whore in Homeworld 1... They hurled so many of those damned Missile Destroyers and Cruisers at me I swore up and down the AI was cheating in RPs. That and the AI had an annoying fixation with the Minelayer Corvette.

Homeworld 2 was borken in other ways.

HW1 had a reasonable story line that actually drew me in. HW2 was typical mindless 'we need a story so I'll pull one out of my ass' that we see today. It could have been interesting and complimented the original. Sadly the story lacked as many graces as the gameplay did.

Almost as bad in fact as Master of Orion 3. Fuck that peice of shit.

I bought it in a full retail box for five bucks. Totally worth it for that price. Big Lots is great for snapping up software that bombed in retail.

Yes. But what I hated were some of the missions, were you had to just sit tight and rebuild your fleet while fighting respawning enemies and invincible ancient ships of doom. FUNNNN.

Almost as bad in fact as Master of Orion 3. Fuck that peice of shit.

After finding good mods, I really started enjoying it more. Probably not worth the trouble overall, though.

Incidentally, did they make a soundtrack for HW2? I loved the music from HW1.

Some of the worst that I can remember were on the PSX. Star Wars Episode 1 : The Phantom Menace comes to mind. That game was so damn glitchy I had to restart a couple of times because my character got stuck in a wall.

Official UK Playstation Magazine gave that game 10/10. I'll never forget that, since every other review I saw panned it. OPM had an interview with the kid who played Anakin Skywalker in the previous issue. What a coincidence.

I think it was about then that I really became aware of the bias and general spinelessness in games journalism.

Bad gaming experiences though....

I remember picking up a space based combat game called Xenocracy on the Playstation, which was so slow and unresponsive that it felt like flying through treacle...
Apart from that I've never had the misfortune to play any real stinkers that I can remember.

I suppose I was disappointed by Hybrid Heaven on the N64, which tried to merge Japanese style RPG's with a fighting game combat system. Didn't really work, but kudos to Konami (I think) for trying something mildly original.

Man there was some shitty game I was given by some half-assed friend of mine. It was called echelon or something...

As far as I remember, it was a dodgy realtime strategy game, and just was bad...
