X-Com on HotU

I just payed 30 USD for a copy of SYS2 on ebay, now it's free.

Also
X-Com 1&2
Freespace
Pirates! Gold
MDK
Master of Orion
Close Combat 2
Many, many more

This is one of the best days of my pathetic life.

Goddamn*t, that game shouldn't be up there.

The site is called "Home of the underdogs" for a reason.

I hate it when people throw away their principles.

yeah. it's starting to look more and more like a glorified warez site. freespace? the only reason it's their is because interplay is kind of dead. i thought they recently did their 20th yeear aniversary celebration with a 'rererealse' of the freespace games? they might as well put the fallout games on underdog.

Yes, clearly HotU people are evil bastards who rob Microprose of their hard-earned money...

*breaks down laughing*

Why knock a quality, stable and HUGE site for old games anyway? The theme is neat, but the main virtue it has is that almost every game ever made for the PC is there, regardless of quality or lack thereof. It's main purpose was to be an archive anyway: keep in mind that for the majority of gamers anything over 5 years old doesn't exist, so as time goes on every game is going to become an underdog.

The source code for Freespace 2 was released, so I consider it fair game. I can't remember if they did the same for Freespace.

I have been playing X-Com for the last week and getting nothing done in my life.

Pirates! Gold

You might want to try Port Royale. It's a pretty good update to Pirates! Gold. I think there is a second Port Royale out now too.
