Ok, i just started this today and have gotten as far as creating a character (with great hair and skin, heh)
Now i refuse to progress until i know wtf a Happy Pie is, and what ring pulls are for. I looked at Items on here but its (helpfully) just the heading Other Items, and then a large blank space (grrr miroslav)

The happy pie is some sort of nutrition. If you eat it, you can get some of your lost hit points back. Every kind of food gives you a little healing, so to speak. Allthough some have drawbacks.

As for the ringpulls. Remember the bottle caps in Fallout 1 ? It's the same. They are used as legal currancy in the world of the wastes. You can use them to trade with non-BOS NPC's.

Hey you :-)

I figured it out after i quit sulking and went and completed the first mission last night *beams proudly*

Though we had actual MONEY in F2, what the hell happened to the economy??

Im finding it really slow having to control the other two as well as myself, but i guess ill get used to that, im just not good enough to do stuff simultaneously yet. Is there a list of Items and their values anywhere you know of.. i HAD assumed the Happy Pie was edible, lol...im stupid but not THAT stupid, i just didnt want to eat it until i knew if it was like some food and drink in F2 (ie that ill lose perception or hps)

By the way, do you read every single post in this site?? Youre like the Lone Ranger man!

Ok, before everyone laughs at me, may i point out that i have only ever played 2 PC games in my life, FO and F2, hence complete stupidity when it comes to tactical games. Im in the first bunker after completing first mission. I have traded with Quartermaster..is there anything else i should do here? How do i get my next mission? Should i talk to everyone? Scribes etc?

Also...im having real trouble actually *seeing* whats in my Inventory, its really dark..is this same for everyone or is it my PC? In F2 you could alter brightness level but i dont see that in Options here. My nose is pressed against the screen, and i can barely make out dark items like buffout and berettas!!

By the way.will i always have Stitch and Farsight?

First off, read the manual, it's not the best manual ever made but it will explain a lot of this stuff. To get your next mission, go find the General and talk to him (he's the dude wearing power armor without a helmet.) If you want to add new guys to your roster (or get rid of ones) then find the Recruit Master and talk to him. Also, remember that when you trade in a guy, he will keep all of his equipment (including armor.) As for the brightness, does your monitor have a way to adjust brightness (as in controls on it?) Also, if you're playing with a lot of glare from sunlight on your computer, that could probably be it. Happy hunting!

The economy ? Well, in Fallout 1 we had bottle caps. 80 years later we had money. Fallout tactics is placed between the two. 40 years after Fallout 1. The economy, espacially money, needs to be rebuild and that takes time. Besides i always found it weird that you would have money in a post nuclear world. Who would print it ? It is more likely that some form of curancy is used that is basically the same in other parts. Therefor you have bottlecaps, or in this case ringpulls. The only money in tacics is from the BOS.
Controlling your squad can sometimes be a pain. Allthough i found out that you only actually need one peron most of the time to get the objectives done. The others in my squad are mostly specialists in miscilanious skills. Healing, lockpicking, etc. I do hire a big gunner and grenadier later on. Alice is good far that sort of thing.
I read the new posts. And i only post in them if i have something relevant to say. I also look at the post count and if i see a different number then the day before i go in and have a look.
